Katie Maloney Says Her & Ariana Madix's Sandwich Shop Will Open "Very, Very Soon"
The Vanderpump Rules cast member provided a reassuring update on the long-awaited eatery.
Contrary to online rumors, Katie Maloney swears that her long-awaited sandwich shop, Something About Her, is a legitimate business.
“It’s not a scam!” she said during an E! News interview alongside her Vanderpump Rules castmate Scheana Shay. “There is a location, 100% there is a location. It exists. There’s a door you can walk through.”
Katie and her business partner, Ariana Madix, have spent the past several years working on the WeHo eatery, which was expected to open in 2023. Although the pair has taken huge steps in building the business — such as securing a location and hiring staff members — the extensive delay has caused many to wonder if the restaurant plans will ever come to fruition.

When is Something About Her opening?
Katie and Ariana have repeatedly claimed that the sandwich shop opening was out of their hands, as they were waiting on city officials to grant the necessary permits.
"We had to rip out an entire patio,” Katie explained. “So we’ve had to get a whole new awning made, we’ve had to get new permits for that, [and] that took forever. Public Works and Safety, they just — talk to them. I’ll give you their phone number if you want to talk to them and ask [what the hold up is].”
Katie said she didn’t want to share a time frame for the restaurant’s launch, but reassured fans it was happening “soon.”
“We are so dangerously close, and I mean that in a really positive way,” she continued. “I know it’s been a really long time coming and that’s felt by everyone that asks me that question. But, I mean, if we could’ve opened six months ago, we absolutely would’ve. But it’s completely out of our hands. But we’re hiring right now and will be training very soon and it’s right around the corner. I don’t want to share a date but very, very soon.”
Katie teases the "beautiful" additions to the Something About Her shop
Katie said the process of opening a sandwich shop has been very "illuminating" but quite difficult. However, she was excited to reveal all the hard work that went into the shop.
“We don’t have the awning up just yet but I saw some plans for it yesterday,” she continued. “This is not for the faint of heart… There’s so many things. The inside is really beautiful. I’m really excited about it. We got a new awning, a new sign, there’s lights. It’s super cute.”
What is on the Something About Her menu?
There will be a variety of sandwiches to order on the Something About Her menu, like a greek salad sandwich. Grab-and-go treats, like croissants, muffins, and cookies will also be available. Something About Her will also serve wine and beer to go alongside the sandwiches, in addition to a selection of teas. But, "no coffee, because there's already a wonderful coffee shop next door," Katie said in the exclusive video tour.
Katie and Scheana share their thoughts on Vanderpump Rules Season 11
Katie and Scheana then turned their direction to the current season of Vanderpump Rules. The former SURvers said this Season 11 has been “very dark” because the cast is still reeling from Ariana’s shocking breakup with Tom Sandoval.
"I just feel, like, very solemn all the time. It just feels, like, heavy a lot,” Katie said. “I don’t want tumultuous arguments and fighting.”
Scheana agreed: “That’s tough to navigate when I try to be a positive, happy, light person. So that was very challenging.”
The two also teased a “plot twist” for the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 reunion, which was filmed in late March.
“It’s something that has never happened before,” Scheana said about the unexpected moment. “So, that was crazy.”
