Kathy Hilton Makes Surprising Declaration About Kyle Richards & Mauricio Umansky
When asked if Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky could get back together, Kathy Hilton admitted there's "a chance."
Kathy Hilton says there's "always a chance" that sister Kyle Richards and her estranged husband, Mauricio Umansky, might reconcile.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 14 friend made the declaration when she appeared on the December 3 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
"Do you think there's any chance that Kyle and Mau could get back together?" host Andy Cohen asked during the episode.
"I always say 'There's always a chance,'" Kathy responded.
Andy then wondered if Kathy feels like she has to filter what she says about her estranged brother-in-law (Kathy critiqued how Mauricio left Hilton & Hyland to start The Agency on the RHOBH Season 13 reunion). In answering, she shed light on where the two stand today.
Are Kathy Hilton and Mauricio Umansky feuding?
It doesn't sound like it. As Kathy told Andy on WWHL, "I say how I feel, and I like Mau. And I wouldn't say that if I didn't. He can be charming [and] fun. We actually had a really nice time the last time I saw him."
Andy jokingly asked if the last time Kathy saw Mauricio was in 2015, and she said no.
"No, actually in Aspen," she shared about the last time she interacted with the real estate broker. "Even though he got a little cheeky with me with the corn and the, you know, whatever."
Kathy Hilton and Mauricio Umansky's previous drama, explained
While Kathy said she liked Mauricio on WWHL, she sang a bit of a different tune on the RHOBH Season 14 premiere.
"Over the years, you know, we've had our ups and downs with Mau," Kathy said in an interview on the episode. "I heard from other people that he was talking a lot about Hilton & Hyland and Rick [Hilton] on his show, [Buying Beverly Hills]."
Kathy explained that she felt like it was unfair for Mauricio to talk about her family since they weren't doing the same.
"We don't discuss him," she continued. "I would say the only advice I could give would be just to move on."
The drama between Mauricio and the Hiltons came to a head when the sophomore season of Mauricio's real estate show debuted in March 2024. After Mauricio's comments about starting his business made headlines, Kathy and Rick's daughter, Paris Hilton, defended her family on Instagram.
Paris, more specifically, said that Rick has "always taken the higher road" and would "never talk negatively about his family — especially in the press."
"Frankly, we are all sick of [Mauricio] using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show," Paris added. "It's enough already."
Mauricio, for his part, said that he felt "no bad blood" toward his estranged wife's family: "Look, it's sad she got so upset about that, but at the end of the day, it's two businessmen making business decisions."
