Looking for Marriage Advice? Let Kandi Burruss’ Mama Joyce Offer You Some
The RHOA singer's longtime BFF Tiny Harris shared the romantic wisdom Mama Joyce gave her.
Kandi Burruss' mother, Mama Joyce, is always free with her opinions, especially when it comes to her daughter's love life. The Real Housewives of Atlanta mogul's parent loves to give advice to Kandi's close friends as well.
"When I was about 15, 16, Aunt Joyce — Kandi's mama — told me do not marry for love, marry for security... and I didn't understand that at the time," Tameka "Tiny" Harris revealed on ExpediTIously, the new podcast from her husband, rapper Clifford "T.I." Harris, after he asked her why she thought people get married in this day and age.
T.I. was taken aback by Mama Joyce's advice because she delivered it to Tiny when she was just a teenager and she was what he calls an "OG."
"Listen here, young lady," he said, pretending to be Mama Joyce, "You're gonna fall in love. But forget that! You marry for security and lifestyle and your way of living. How did that work out for you?"
"I was blessed to be able to have both, because I fell in love!" she said.
"You are a sorcerer of words!" he teased. "I am happy that I was able to provide a diverse platform of matrimony for you. Now, is it easier to be married with money, do you think?"
"I've never been married outside of money," she said, to his great laughter. "So if you want to be fair about it, I don't know. I was told that women that are more successful than their men are happier in marriage, right?
"Why you asking me that, I thought you heard it?" T.I. smiled.
"Yeah, you told me!" she laughed.
