There Is a Whole College Course Based on Kandi Burruss' Impressive Career
Georgia State Law students are about to learn so much from The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member's career.
If you’ve been watching Kandi Burruss since Season 2, you may think you’re an expert on The Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member…but have you taken a whole college course on her life yet?
The College of Law at Georgia State University will be offering a course based on the “Legal Life of Kandi Burruss.” Kandi shared the news in an August 11 Instagram post, writing, “I am so honored that Georgia State University College of Law decided to do a legal course about my life! Wow!! Thank you!”
“They will go through the different business and career choices that I’ve made from a legal perspective, and that is a lot to go through!” Kandi explained, thanking professor Mo Ivory for making the course happen.
In a statement, Ivory explained why she chose Kandi as the topic of her course, which is part of the schools’ Entertainment, Sports, and Media Law Initiative, which seeks to give students the skills that aren’t always taught in a traditional law classroom.
“I chose Kandi because she has an amazing career, which spans every aspect of the entertainment industry from music, television and live performance to licensing, apparel and more,” she said. “Having worked with Kandi in the past, I knew she was the perfect choice. She handles her business and it shows with her success, but all the while she’s completely approachable and willing to share her lessons learned. I couldn’t be happier for my students to learn the law through Kandi’s career.”
According to the statement, the course will give students the opportunity to role play contract negotiations based on Kandi’s career, as well as hear from some of the professionals who helped shape those decisions in real life, including her mother, manager, and attorneys.
“Every contract you sign is building towards your overall dreams and goals,” said Kandi. “I’m excited to see the students get a first-hand look into some of the contracts that have shaped my career thus far.”
