Are Kandi & The Gang’s Dom’Unique Variety and Brandon Black Still Together?
Dom’Unique Variety addressed whether Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker were being “hypocritical” about her relationship on WWHL.
Romance bloomed between Dom’Unique Variety and Brandon Black during this season of Kandi & The Gang. But keeping their relationship alive while working at Old Lady Gang proved to be difficult, as senior management discussed transferring one employee to Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker’s other Atlanta restaurant, Blaze Steak and Seafood.
At the end of the Kandi & The Gang Season 1 finale, which aired on May 8, we learned the fate of Dom and Brandon’s relationship. Six months after the Friday Night Vibe event, the couple was still going strong. “Me and Dom, we are on a great page,” Brandon confirmed in an update on the season finale.
And while they both still work at OLG as they continue to date, Dom noted in another update on the episode that a decision might soon be made about their employment at the restaurant. “I still work at Old Lady Gang at the moment,” she said. “Unfortunately, there’s a lot of talk that I have to move to Blaze because of Brandon and I’s relationship.”
We actually saw some of that talk on the Kandi & The Gang Season 1 finale when Phillip Frempong expressed he would rather let Dom go than lose Brandon. When Dom appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on May 8, she said, “I felt a way,” about Phillip seemingly choosing Brandon over her. However, she said, “But I understand business, so, you know, I’m just following protocol.”
During Sunday night's episode of WWHL, Phillip stood by his feelings about Brandon and Dom continuing to work together (clip below). While playing the game “1, 2, Agree or Disagree!” one of the statements host Andy Cohen presented to guests Phillip, Dom, Shawndreca Robinson, Brian Redmond, and Patrick Dallas was “Because of the way Todd and Kandi met, it is hypocritical for them to have an issue with Brandon and Dom’s relationship.”
Bravo fans will recall that Kandi and Todd also met in the workplace, when Todd worked behind the scenes on The Real Housewives of Atlanta many seasons ago. Phillip was among those to disagree with that statement on WWHL, while Dom, of course, agreed that Kandi and Todd were being “hypocritical.”
Still, there can definitely be a downside to dating your co-worker, as Dom and Brandon found out on this season of Kandi & The Gang. Security cameras memorably caught the couple making out in the back room, which, on a scale of 1 to 10 rating how much she cringed when she saw that footage on the show, was “an absolute 10,” according to Dom. “I was in disbelief. I couldn’t believe I was caught and I was being broadcast,” Dom said during the WWHL After Show (clip below). “And I just was shook, OK?”
Recently, Brandon gave fans a super sweet glimpse into his relationship with Dom outside of OLG, posting on Instagram a montage of the couple’s “quick trip” to Miami in March, as well as a playful video of the pair last month bursting into laughter when they realized they weren’t taking a photo.
