Jill Kargman's Grand NYC Home Is Equal Parts Glam and Macabre
It's easy to see why the #OddMomOut's family is "the most popular play date in town."
Jill Kargman is so lovably eccentric on-and-off of Odd Mom Out that we've been dying to step inside the place where she calls home. Well, the wait is finally over as Jill recently gave PEOPLE a tour of her New York City carriage house. Spoiler alert: It is just as fabulous as we thought it would be.
We mean, how could it not be with a pizza oven built right into the kitchen? Even though the broker thought the Kargmans would rip out the pizza oven put in by the home's previous owner, Lisa Clark, the first wife of legendary music executive Tommy Mottolla, Jill couldn't imagine living without it. “We’re the most popular play date in town,” she said in the video.
Jill keeps her signature quirkiness going in her living room, "where the magic happens," i.e. where she watches the fantastical HBO series Game of Thrones. Artwork from her various apartments with her husband Harry Kargman in their 16 years as a couple fills the walls, many of which feature skulls. "I've always thought that's very life-affirming and makes you kind of be carpe diem-y," Jill said of her seemingly morbid decor.
You can find one of Jill's biggest furniture splurges in her bedroom, her grand Oscar de la Renta canopy bed. "I always wanted a canopy bed since I was a little girl," Jill gushed. "It kind of cannibalizes the room, but I'm fine with that because we spend a lot of time as a family and just we're lazy sacks of sh**."
As you can see, Jill has made sure to give her daughter Ivy her dream bedroom, which the Odd Mom Out creator and star describes as "very sweet and delicate" with pink patterned wallpaper and adorable stuffed animals, including Gizelle the unicorn. “It feels like a happy house,” Jill said. “We always fill it with people.”
Jill, Harry, Ivy, and 13-year-old daughter Sadie Kargman have lived in this crib since 2014, and the Odd Mom Out star doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon — or ever. “I am never leaving this house,” she said. “I am staying here until they carry my body out.”
We definitely don't blame her.
Even the fictional characters of Odd Mom Out have some amazing digs. Take a tour of Vanessa's apartment, below.
