Jeff Lewis Reached out to Jenni Pulos-Nassos After Friendship-Ending Falling Out
The Flipping Out designer shared the message he sent to his former friend.
Jeff Lewis is ready for resolution in 2020.
The Flipping Out designer revealed on his Radio Andy show Jeff Lewis Live on January 13 that he has reached out to Jenni Pulos-Nassos following their falling out.
Actually, it was another familiar face who inspired Jeff to contact his onetime bestie. While out with Mercedes "MJ" Javid last week, Jeff said that the Shahs of Sunset mom brought up Jenni and said, "Look, you guys were friends forever. You've been [through] ups, downs, she's like family to you. Are you ever gonna reach out?"
Jeff told MJ that he had actually been thinking of reaching out to Jenni for months.
We watched Jeff and Jenni's longtime friendship come to an end in Season 11 of Flipping Out. Jeff explained on his radio show that it often takes him awhile to apologize to someone because he only does so when he truly feels sorry, and he finally got to that point with Jenni. "Sometimes it takes me weeks, months, a year to really reflect and realize what my role was in something. I felt like it took many, many months, and I think maybe because we had such a deep, loving relationship — Jenni and I — there was a lot of hurt, and I think it took me a very, very long time to really take a look," he shared. "OK, what did you do, Jeff? Why did she react this way? What did I say?"
Jeff continued, "So I finally realized after my lunch that it was time. And it was a new year, and I thought, 'I'm gonna reach out.'"
Jeff then read the text message he sent to Jenni: “What I wrote to her is, ‘Hi, Happy New Year. I hope you and your family are happy and healthy. Would you be open to meeting with me sometime? I don’t feel good about what happened between us and I’m very sorry for my role in it.'"
He said that he's looking forward to receiving a response from Jenni. “I’m hoping that she gets back to me," Jeff said. "I would love to sit down and talk to her.”
If he and Jenni do end up meeting, Jeff said that he's going to go into it with an open mind. “I don’t expect anything in return from her," he said. "I plan on clearing my conscience and telling her everything that I’m sorry for, but I’m not going to do it and be like, ‘Well, what are you sorry for?’ That should happen in her own time. Or not!”
Jeff underscored his past closeness to Jenni, saying that she was "like my sister." "We live basically in the same neighborhood. I know I'm gonna run into her someday. I don't want it to be awkward," Jeff said. "I have no expectations attached to this; I just don't want it to be uncomfortable if I run into her at Larsen's in Encino."
Jeff has been focusing on repairing many of his relationships these days. He reunited with his former housekeeper Zoila Chavez at his daughter Monroe's third birthday party in October 2019, two years after she retired from working for him. Zoila's sister even works for Jeff now.
Jeff also shared that he hopes to get to a better place with ex Gage Edward following their breakup and subsequent contentious custody battle in 2019. "I hope we have a friendship. I would like to have a friendship with Gage," Jeff said on his radio show in November 2019. "And that's what I'm putting out there."
