Jax Taylor Says Men Always “Need Therapy” After Dating Kristen Doute
Jax questioned Kristen and boyfriend Luke Broderick's romantic future in a preview of The Valley.
Jax Taylor and Kristen Doute have known each other for more than 15 years, and just like on Vanderpump Rules, they’re not afraid to call each other out on The Valley. There’s a long history between the two, and both know each other’s dirty laundry, and messy pasts with ex-boyfriends and girlfriends.
The friends met for a meal in this sneak peek at Episode 2 of The Valley — and had an explosive conversation that included Jax’s declaration that men “need therapy” after dating Kristen.
As Jax and Kristen sat down at Los Angeles restaurant The Smoke House, they started talking about an argument that came up during a party at Janet Caperna’s house, involving Kristen’s ex-boyfriend, Alex Menache. The two started dating in 2020, but the relationship fizzled out.
“I don’t understand why Jax brought up my most recent ex, Alex,” Kristen said in her confessional. “I sold my house. I moved in with him. He was the realtor. And we broke up seven times until he kicked me out and sold all my furniture that he wrote off.”

Who is Kristen Doute with today?
She added that her relationship with her current boyfriend, Luke Broderick, is different.
“But with Luke, we don’t yell,” she said. “We don’t scream. Our communication is stupid impeccable.”
Why is Jax upset with Kristen's boyfriend?
Jax, however, insinuated in his confessional that Kristen and Luke are not on the same page about having children, and worried about what was coming, since they don’t live in the same place.
“I’m pretty good at spotting a Kristen Doute disaster,” he said. “I can spot it a mile away.”
He went on to tell Kristen, “Luke said absolutely not — I would never raise a child here,” while Kristen replied, “He’s absolutely moving here.”
When Kristen admitted she’s moving into a new apartment, but Luke isn’t on the lease, Jax had some thoughts.
“I mean it doesn’t really take a f-cking rocket scientist to see what’s going to happen here,” Jax said in his confessional. “I’ve seen a lot of people like Luke come into Kristen’s life. And they leave — they just need therapy afterwards.”
Still, Kristen called her boyfriend her “forever.”
“I want you guys to start treating him like he’s my forever … like does anyone know his last name? Does anyone even know where he’s from?” she asked Jax.
Jax conceded that he was planning a guys night, and that he’d invite Luke and get to know him.
“I don’t bring new people into the group easily,” Jax said to Kristen. “I was friends with your ex. I’m between a rock and a hard place here.”
