How to Watch

Judging by a juicy preview clip from the second episode of the new Bravo series, The Valley, airing Tuesdays at 9/8c, he doesn’t waste time doing that on a recent guys night — so much so Jax’s actions have him acknowledging that he’s messed up after he tries to force Kristen Doute's boyfriend, Luke Broderick, to hang out with Kristen's most recent ex-boyfriend, Alex Menache.

The Valley reunites a few Vanderpump Rules alums and their friends to explore their love lives and parenting experiences. The 12-member cast includes Jax and wife Brittany Cartwright, Kristen Doute and boyfriend, Luke Broderick, plus a cool mix of others.

The latest tantalizing preview teaser captures a moment in Episode 2. In it, we see that Jax unilaterally makes a decision that could potentially have a negative impact for Luke and Kristen.

The clip begins in a bar, where Jax and a group of his buds were meeting Luke.

“Cheers to you. Welcome, Luke,” Jax said, adding that he’s hoping for a “kumbaya” kind of harmony. “Everybody be friends, everybody be merry.”

Jax then pulled Luke aside to another table. “I’m gonna have a little chat with you over here. I have great motivation on this,” he told Luke.

“I want you to be part of this group as much as anyone. I’m trying to figure out a way where we all hang out, you know, where I don’t have to be like, ‘Who’s coming to this tonight? Well, I can’t invite this person,'" Jax claimed.

After all, not everyone gets alone. People clash. Jax brought up Kristen’s ex-boyfriend Alex Menache, whom she broke up with in 2022.

Jax continued his kumbaya pitch.

There’s only one way that this can happen,” Jax told Luke. “Dude, you're a reasonable guy, you’re a nice guy — and so is Alex. I think you two would honestly get along.”

With arms crossed, outdoorsman Luke shut down Jax’s offer flat.

“What's the point? Why?” said Luke. “Why would I try to be friends with my girlfriend’s ex?”

In a confessional, Luke explained why he gave Jax’s idea the ice-cold shoulder.

“Kristen has told me that her ex was very difficult, and their relationship still triggers her. Jax knows her triggers," he explained.

That’s because Jax shares a long history with Kristen.

“Jax knows how to make her freak out,” Luke said. “I don’t think it’s something that friends do to friends.”

Jax, of course, pleaded his case to Luke.

“I thought maybe there would be a world where you guys can laugh it off,” he said. But Luke assured him that there’s not.

“I’m not going to be OK with a guy like him,” said Luke.

The situation went from awkward to stickier than leftover Mamaw’s Beer Cheese when Jax revealed to Luke that he invited Alex to join them.

“Why would I want to be friends with the ex of my girlfriend?” he said to Jax. “I've got her back 100%. I’ve got no interest in getting to know this guy.”

Jax tried to put a positive spin on his actions: “I just want to make sure that you're getting all the right stories,” he told Luke.

And at the same moment Alex walked in. Jax appeared to have an epiphany: “I f-cked up, didn’t I?”

How do things revolve? Stay tuned.
