Jax Taylor Complains About Relentless Post-Breakup Paparazzi: “I’m So Triggered”
“There’s no affair. No cheating. There’s no abuse," Jax said. "But the paparazzi are pretty much everywhere."
Jax Taylor wasn't camera-ready.
The breakup of his marriage to Brittany Cartwright has put Jax squarely in the crosshairs of paparazzi, he claims, and that has him feeling “so triggered.”
“The paparazzi are pretty much everywhere,”Jax told castmate Jason Caperna in a preview for Season 1, Episode 12 of The Valley, airing Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
A marital breakup is rough for anybody, after all. But being hounded during a challenging time exacerbated an already tense situation.
Jax admitted his “fuse” was getting shorter by the minute.
What led to Jax and Brittany’s breakup?
In February, shortly before the premiere of The Valley, Jax and Brittany, who have a 3-year-old son, Cruz, announced their separation.
Fractures in the couple’s relationship have emerged during Season 1, despite Jax’s ardent assertion that he and his wife are a forever match.
Nonetheless, they’ve both admitted that their sex life has fizzled. Plus, Jax harshly criticized Brittany about her drinking and other issues in front of their friends during Janet Caperna’s Babymoon at Big Bear Lake, California.
“We don’t believe in separation, we don’t believe in any of that,” Jax maintained to his guy friends during the trip. “My wife is going to have to bury me in the f-cking backyard. I will never go anywhere, and she will never leave.”
Jax downplayed the critical state of his marriage and described their situation as “a hiccup.” But he came to recognize that the issues were more serious.
Jax and Brittany’s marital collapse coincided with a happy new beginning for Jason and Janet Caperna, who are both over the moon about their baby son, as seen in the Episode 12 preview clip.

Jason visited Jax at his Los Angeles sports bar, Jax’s Studio City, where he reveled in the joys of fatherhood and checked in on how his friend was doing in the wake of the split.
“So, man, you’ve had a busy past few days," he said.
Jax inhaled deeply, and said, “Paparazzi are pretty much everywhere.
That included an athletic facility where photographers appeared to lay in wait for Jax.
“How are you feeling after the breakup?” a photographer asked Jax as he was leaving a workout.
“I don’t know, man,” said Jax. “How’d you know I was here?”
“This is a popular gym,” responded one of the paps.
Back at his bar, Jax did some deep sharing with Jason: “There’s no affair. No cheating. There’s no abuse. There’s none of that.”
But there’s plenty of anxiety, and Jax has been feeling on edge.
“I’m so triggered,” Jax confessed, while holding thumb and forefinger an inch apart for emphasis. “My fuse is this big.”
Brittany, meanwhile, was also adrift after the split. In the preview, she's seen with new mom Janet, Michelle Saniei Lally, and Nia Booko.
Her friends asked her how she was holding up.
“I’m all right,” said Brittany. “I’m having, like, a weird moment right now just because today was so hard.”
Keep up with Jax, Brittany, and the whole cast of The Valley, airing Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
