Jax Taylor Hints at the Reason for His Separation from Brittany Cartwright: "Zero to Do With..."
The Valley's Jax Taylor is opening up about his separation from wife, Brittany Cartwright.
It's been nearly one week since Brittany Cartwright announced that she and her husband, Jax Taylor, are taking some time apart after five years of marriage.
The Valley cast members and Vanderpump Rules alums have had all of their relationship practically documented on screen since Brittany made her first appearance on VPR in Season 4. Because of this, viewers have been invested in their relationship from the beginning. Brittany acknowledged this in an episode of her podcast, When Reality Hits with Brittany and Jax. "Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health," she said.
While neither Jax nor Brittany, who are the parents to 2-year-old son, Cruz, have given a reason for the split, invested viewers have been speculating why. Jax took to X, formerly Twitter, where he responded to one person who speculated on what happened between them.

Jax Taylor on the Reason for His Separation from Brittany Cartwright
Jax is the owner of his own bar, Jax's Studio City, which serves food and drinks to patrons in Studio City, California. While alcohol might have been a factor in his previous relationships, Jax insisted that his bar had nothing to do with his separation from Brittany.
"Actually it's one of the things thats actually working for the both of us and is helping us[.] we love our bar[.] [It] has zero to do with that or drinking[,] it's communication," he wrote of his and Brittany's separation. "I don't know one married couple that hasn't gone through what we are going through."
One day prior, Jax posted his thoughts on everyone else's thoughts about his separation. "Everyone's a f—ing marriage counselor now..." he wrote.
In an interview with Page Six on Feb. 29, Jax insisted that they were not getting a divorce, just taking time apart to reassess their situation. "This is all fresh and new, it's not evil and nastiness, it's just two people hitting a 10-year mark in their [relationship], and it could go one way or the other," he said.
What Jax Taylor Is Up to Amid His Split from Brittany Cartwright
Although Brittany and Cruz have moved out from their shared home with Jax, he has still been finding ways to spend time with his son as they navigate their separation.
Jax took to his Instagram Story on Wednesday, March 6, where he posted a video of Cruz at a trampoline park, jumping around and having a ball. "We love rainy days!!" Jax wrote over the video, tagging Brittany and Cruz's Instagram accounts.
This comes on the heels of Brittany posting photos of her and Cruz to her Instagram Story over the past week, showing that their son is both of their biggest priority right now.
The Valley premieres on Bravo on Tuesday, March 19 following a new episode of Vanderpump Rules. Stream episodes the next day on Peacock.
