Jarrett "JT" Thomas Reveals Terrifying Health Scare: “Am I Gonna Lose a Leg?”
Jarrett "JT" Thomas explains why he's using a cane in a preview of the Southern Charm Season 10 premiere.
Southern Charm is coming back! And with it, more drama, romance, and even an injury ... in the case of Jarrett "JT" Thomas, at least.
In the above preview for Season 10, Episode 1 of the show (set to air Thursday, December 5), fans learn that JT is recovering from an ATV accident. The injury is so bad, in fact, that he has to rely on a cane (but it's a fancy cane, of course.)
While out shopping for a Carolina Cup outfit with Venita Aspen, whom he's grown close to in recent months, the real estate professional explains his predicament.
"I took a little ATV crash," he says, explaining more in a confessional: "I went to Costa Rica, and I'm going down the mountain in an ATV. And I hit, like, a little dirt drift, and I projectile pretty far down the side of the mountain. I'm laying there on the ground. There's blood everywhere. I look up and the ATV is rolling down and it pins my leg underneath it."
The South Carolina native adds that he was "trapped and screaming" in that moment and remembers thinking, "'Am I gonna lose a leg?'"
Nevertheless, once he got to the doctor he was given a positive prognosis: "You're not gonna die."
"Yeah, I guess it wasn't that bad," he concludes. "It hurt, but ... yeah."
Venita Aspen Reacts to JT Thomas' Leg Injury
Naturally, Venita is concerned that her shopping partner is having a hard time moving around.
"Are you gonna make it?" she asks as he slowly makes his way down the street.
"I'm gonna make it. We're gonna get this outfit," he responds.
And while the fashionista is good natured about the whole situation, she does mention that the cane "has got to go."
What to Expect from Jarret "JT" Thomas on Season 10 of Southern Charm
A press release shared ahead of Season 10 offered some insight into JT's life this season.
"JT continues to be an outspoken rabble-rouser, stirring up controversy wherever he goes," it said. "Despite his best intentions, his rapport with many in the group starts to go up in flames. However, Venita turns out to be his constant and offers a shoulder to lean on as he tries to mend friendships."
When does Southern Charm Season 10 premiere?
Season 10 of Southern Charm premieres on Thursday, Dec. 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
