James Kennedy Weighs in on Scheana Shay and Tom Sandoval's Friendship
The DJ weighed in on Scheana Shay's "painful" conversation with Tom Sandoval.
After deciding to end their decade-long friendship on the Vanderpump Rules Season 10 finale, Scheana Shay and Tom Sandoval came face-to-face to talk about their relationship on Season 11, Episode 3.
The former SUR waitress and bartender met, appropriately, in the restaurant's infamous back alleyway. Scheana asked Sandoval about why he blocked her when she reached out following the death of his close friend, Ali. Sandoval, for his part, wondered why Scheana had spoken about him with Nema Vand on an episode of her podcast, Scheananigans.
The two didn't resolve a lot during their discussion, but is there hope for them to repair their friendship in the future? James Kennedy weighed in on the fate of their friendship when he appeared on the February 13 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. James Kennedy Discusses Scheana Shay's Chat with Tom Sandoval in the SUR Alleyway
Though Scheana and Sandoval had a strong friendship for many years, James doesn't think that there's any hope for the two to reconcile.
"Can that friendship be mended?" he asked on WWHL. "I'm not sure, but that was a painful conversation to watch, you know, as was the conversation [Sandoval] tried to have with me in his house on his birthday — pretty painful."
James is, however, more optimistic at the prospect of Sandoval's ex, Ariana Madix, making amends with Sandoval's best friend, Tom Schwartz, in the future.
"I think so," James said about whether he believes that they could get back on the same page. "There's room. Ariana and Schwartz? Yes, yes, yes."
Where Scheana Shay Stands with Tom Sandoval
Though Scheana and Sandoval didn't decide to become friends again when they chatted in the SUR alleyway, they did clear the air about a few issues. Scheana, for example, told Sandoval that she was being "genuine" when she texted him following Ali's passing.
"I understand that, and I appreciate it. I was not in a good place that day..." Sandoval told her. "I felt that maybe you were just doing it to say that you did."
"See, I would think that after 14 years, you would know me better than that and know that me reaching out was genuine because I have a heart," Scheana responded.
As Sandoval shared in an interview on the episode, losing his friendship with Scheana has been difficult.
"I would say [that], out of everyone, the loss of Scheana and I's friendship has been devastating to me," he explained. "Scheana's a friend that's just — you know, she's all heart. She's funny. I miss her."
