Is Jax Taylor Upset James Kennedy Calls Himself the No. 1 Guy in the Group?

Who should take the title of "No. 1 Guy in the Group?" Well, it depends on who you ask.

By Jill Sederstrom

Jax Taylor is still the number one guy in the group — at least, according to him.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Peacock and the Bravo app.

Cast members of The Valley and Vanderpump Rules weighed in on who has the coveted title in a hilarious clip from the Vanderpump Rules After Show that had them fighting over which guy should land on top.

“Well, I love seeing you all back together and I have to ask, Jax, are you still the number one guy in the group?” a producer asked.

“Well, yeah, yeah,” Jax replied.

“Duh,” Tom Schwartz added.

Who is the number one guy in the group on Vanderpump Rules?

Whether Jax retains the self-appointed title he memorably gave himself in Season 4 of Vanderpump Rules depends on who you ask.

Not surprisingly, Brittany Cartwright — who recently separated from Jax — still saw the bar owner as the top dog when it comes to Bravo’s newest series The Valley.

“Duh. Yeah, for sure. He’s definitely the number one guy,” she said, as Lala Kent agreed.

But Scheana Shay and Kristen Doute didn’t see it that way. Scheana thought the title should go to The Valley’s Jason Caperna, while Kristen voted for Jax’s son, Cruz, then switched her vote to her own beau, Luke Broderick

Luke himself noted that “Jax is involved in everybody else’s business more than any other individual.”

Zach Wickham argued that “none of the guys” deserved the honor, while Jasmine Goode tried to snag the title for herself.

“I think I’m the number one,” she joked.

Jax could have some stiff competition on The Valley from castmate Jesse Lally, who has his own healthy ego.

“You’ll find out that Jax and Jesse have a lot of similarities and they like to be the life of the party so Jesse would say that he’s the number one,” Michelle Saniei Lally said.

It didn’t take long for Jesse to prove his former wife right. In fact, when he was announcing he’d be part of the new Bravo series, Jesse wrote on social media, “Hello World. There is a new #1 Guy in the Group.”

“[Jax] was not happy with that,” Jesse said on the After Show, as Danny Booko added, “You’re coming for him.”

What was Jax Taylor’s reaction to James Kennedy being named number one guy in the group?

Time Magazine gave the honor of “number 1  guy in the group” last year to James Kennedy — a distinction that Brock Davies said Jax was still “so butt hurt about.”

“Oh, he’s so butt hurt that you are the number one guy in the group,” Brock told James. “I know for a fact that he is so butt hurt about that.”

As for James himself, he noted that Jax now has his own bar and is still making his presence known.

“He’s running the f-cking town. I mean, call him the kingpin of The Valley for f-ck's sake,” James said.

“He’s the number one guy in The Valley,” Brock added.

“Jax thinks he’s the number one guy of the mafia,” James joked. “Like he is running the world.”

The clip ends with Jax taking one final grab of the title.

“I could sit here and say well, no, but we all know I am,” he said.

“He’s still got it,” Schwartz said as Tom Sandoval started to clap for the reigning champ.
