Gia Giudice Reveals Why She Was "So Upset" While Traveling Abroad with Her Boyfriend
The RHONJ daughter experienced a few stressful moments while traveling to Turkey with Christian Carmichael.
Traveling abroad isn’t always easy — even for a jet-setter, like Gia Giudice.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey daughter returned to social media this week to share an honest look at her 17-hour trip to Bodrum, Turkey. Gia — who was accompanied by her longtime boyfriend, Christian Carmichael — began the video after arriving at John F. Kennedy International Airport, where she experienced a few setbacks and extensive wait times.

“This luggage dropoff and check-in line was the longest I’ve ever seen,” she said in the August 14 TikTok. “We were definitely struggling. Then we were just screwing around to try to make the time go by faster and we finally arrived at the front.”
Once they arrived at the front of the line, the couple was told their carry-ons had to weigh under 17 pounds. Gia said she was unfamiliar with that limit, so she and Christian had no choice but to check all of their bags. However, the inconveniences didn’t end there.

“Then we made our way to security,” Gia continued. “Once we arrived at security, I realized that my TSA [number] wasn’t on my boarding pass, so we had to go back.”
Gia, thankfully, got everything in order and boarded a three-hour flight to Istanbul. But once she landed in the Turkish city, she realized her “main” bag was still in Germany.
“I put in AirTag in every single one of my luggages and I was literally tracking them like crazy,” she continued. “I was so nervous because I typically put all my expensive things in my carry-on, knowing that that’ll be with me on the plane. But since we had to check all our bags, I was tracking those AirTags like my life depended on it.”
Gia said the missing luggage contained all her clothing, makeup, and toiletries, which is why she immediately contacted the airline for an update.
“I was literally so upset,” she said. “[I] spent the whole time in Istanbul for our three-hour layover calling the airline and trying to track down my luggage.”
Gia said the airline reassured her that the luggage would arrive the following day.

A few hours later, Gia and Christian finally landed in Bodrum at sunset.
“I was so exhausted,” she said at the end of the video.
Although it was far from smooth, Gia’s 17-hour excursion was apparently well worth it. The Jersey daughter later confirmed that the Turkish getaway was a family affair that included her mom, Teresa Giudice; her little sister Audriana Giudice; her stepdad, Luis “Louie” Ruelas; and her stepbrother Louie Jr.
RHONJ couple Jennifer Aydin and Dr. Bill Aydin were also on the trip along with their five children: Justin, Gabby, Jacob, Christian, and Olivia. The Jersey 'Wives made sure to document the getaway on social media, where they posted photos and videos of their beautiful beach views, late-night dinners, and fun-filled boat days.
