Heather Dubrow confirmed the news during a recent interview with BravoTV.com, where she shared some “exciting” updates on her and Dr. Terry Dubrow’s youngest daughter, KatThe Real Housewives of Orange County mom said the teen was about to begin her final year of high school and had already started the college application process.

“So Kat is going to be a senior in high school,” Heather said. “She wants to go to school for film, so she’s applying now.”

The OC daughter got into filmmaking during her freshman year of high school and has since directed multiple projects, including the award-winning flicks Chicken Parm (2023) and The Color of You (2024), as well as the 2024 fantasy short film Return, which starred her parents, Heather and Terry.

According to her website, Kat’s films have been featured in several prestigious festivals, such as the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, the All-American High School Film Festival, and the Student World Impact Film Festival.

Heather also revealed that Kat was recently recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the prestigious film organization behind the Academy Awards.

“The Academy, that does the Oscars, the Academy does a teen film series and her film got accepted into that, which is so exciting,” she told BravoTV.com.

Heather didn’t reveal which film the Academy selected, but said it was “amazing.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Heather shared more updates on her oldest kids, Max and Nick Dubrow. She said the 20-year-old twins are still in college and are planning to study overseas. Max is preparing to spend a semester in Paris, while Nick is headed to Florence.

“Max is studying psychology. She doesn’t know what she wants to do yet… Maybe law school. She also sings,” Heather said.

The OC mom said Nick is also exploring different career paths, including luxury real estate. The Loyola Marymount University student recently appeared on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles Season 15, while he was interning for Josh Altman’s brokerage firm.

“Nicky got his real estate license,” Heather said during the BravoTV.com sitdown. “He made his first sale. He interned with Josh Altman last year. And this year he’s working in production a little bit. He’s really just trying to get a flavor of all different careers and see what he loves.”

She continued: “He’s so good with people. I really can see him in Hollywood, I can see him in hospitality, real estate, you know, lots that he could do.”
