Hannah Ferrier Opens up About Her "Medical Issues": "Just Dealing with A Lot..."

The Below Deck Mediterranean alum dished on her struggles with her health and a look at how she is navigating it all.

By Casey Suglia

Hannah Ferrier has come a very long way since her time as Chief Stew for the first five seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean. She's now a mom to an adorable daughter named Ava Grace Roberts, living in Sydney, Australia, and on good terms with Captain Sandy Yawn. But she's also been "dealing with a lot of medical issues," which she opened up about in a new post to Instagram Story over the weekend.

The Ocean International Training Academy founder posted a photo of her getting an IV treatment and thanked her followers for checking in on her in the Instagram Story she posted to her account on Friday, July 26, according to Us Weekly. While Hannah admitted things had been hard on her, she urged her followers to take care of themselves, too.

"Thanks for all the lovely messages — I'm OK. Just dealing with a lot of medical issues at the moment," Hannah wrote in her Instagram Story. "The drip I'm getting is NAD — it has help[ed] me immensely. NAD+ IV Therapy is an intravenous vitamin treatment that administers nicotinamide adenine denucleotide directly into your body for optimal rejuvination benefit."

What "medical issues" are Hannah Ferrier dealing with?

Hannah revealed that she has been getting IV therapy "every two weeks" due to her struggles with Ross River virus — a disease spread through mosquito bites that is prominent in Australia, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Most people infected with Ross River virus experience joint and muscle pain, swelling, fever, tiredness, and rash.

While most patients recover within weeks, according to the CDC, others can experience symptoms for "many months." Hannah revealed on her Instagram Story on Friday that the IV therapy has helped her "notice the difference" in her energy levels. "Ross River is a disease similar to Malaria that lives in you and there's no cure," she added.

In separate posts to her Instagram Story, according to Us Weekly, Hannah also urged her followers to go get their "skin checked." "Especially in Australia where the sun is so strong," she wrote. "Make an appointment — take the time. It could save [your] life."
