Gretchen Rossi Lost a Loved One During a "Difficult Week" of Her Pregnancy
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi is asking for prayers after a great loss.
Gretchen Rossi's pregnancy has been nothing but a dream. We mean, have you seen how she and fiancé Slade Smiley look like they're in absolute baby bliss in all of her updates on Instagram? But after Gretchen hit a new milestone in her pregnancy, she also encountered a particularly "difficult week" on the road to motherhood.
As she commemorated becoming 25 weeks pregnant on Instagram on Tuesday, April 2, Gretchen also shared some sad personal news. "Although most of my pregnancy has been nothing but a joyous occasion, last week was a very difficult week for me emotionally as I lost my sweet Grandmother at the age of 93," Gretchen shared. "Although she lived a very long beautiful life, I was still so sad that she didn’t get a chance to meet her great granddaughter. However she did get to see our latest ultrasound of [our] baby girl, and that made her very happy."
Gretchen ended the message, "I know she is in a better place and no longer in pain but my heart still hurts. I am choosing to remain grateful for the time we had with her on earth and find peace in knowing she is now watching over us from above (and probably even having a party in heaven knowing her.) Please pray for me and my family as our hearts heal from her loss."
Shahs of Sunset's Mercedes "MJ" Javid, who is also pregnant with her first child, commented on the Instagram post that Gretchen is "in our prayers." "So sorry for your loss," MJ wrote. "May she be resting peacefully."
All of Gretchen's loved ones have, of course, continued to be there for her as she prepares to welcome her first child in July. Gretchen previously shared on Instagram that several fellow RHOC alums have reached out and congratulated her on her pregnancy, including Lizzie Rovsek, Lydia McLaughlin, Peggy Tanous, and Heather Dubrow. Even Housewives from other cities, such as Kyle Richards, Brandi Redmond, and Stephanie Hollman have also showed their support for the RHOC mom-to-be.
