Gina Kirschenheiter and Ex Matt Kirschenheiter Show What Co-Parenting Looks Like Amid Divorce
The Real Housewives of Orange County exes came together for daughter Sienna's 5th birthday party.
Gina Kirschenheiter and her ex Matt Kirschenheiter are making sure they remain one big happy family amid their divorce. The Real Housewives of Orange County exes recently came together to celebrate their daughter Sienna’s 5th birthday.
Gina and Matt threw a magical unicorn-themed birthday party for their daughter earlier this week. They looked all smiles as they celebrated Sienna’s big day, along with sons Nicholas, 6, and Luca, 3. “Still on cloud 9 that my Sienna Rose is officially 5!” Gina shared in a post on Instagram that featured a couple of photos of the family celebrating with fantastical decorations, pretty in pink balloons, and an epic rainbow cake. “It feels like just yesterday she was just born.”
The RHOC mom also made sure to give Sienna a special shout-out on the day of her actual birthday, March 5, on Instagram. “My sweet Sienna Rose. You have brought me nothing but joy during the last 5 years. It’s an honor to be your mamma,” Gina wrote. “You have such a free wild spirit and the most kind heart. I have so enjoyed watching [you] grow the last five years!!! You are my girl. I love you. Happy Birthday.”
The past year hasn’t been easy for the Kirschenheiters. Gina filed for divorce from Matt on April 2, 2018, citing irreconcilable differences. Season 13 of RHOC followed Gina as she made that difficult decision to split up with Matt after seven years of marriage, as well as her adjustment to life as a single mom.
Gina reaffirmed her commitment to keeping her family together no matter her relationship status with Matt during the RHOC Season 13 reunion. "No matter what happens in our relationship, I do respect him and I do love him,” she said. “He's the father of my children, and I really, really, really, really want to have a good relationship with him because it's forever and it's hard and it sucks. I really want that."
