Gigi Hadid Remembers Her Late Friend Johnny Strange
The model pays tribute to the adventurer, who died in a wingsuiting accident in Switzerland.
Gigi Hadid has taken to Twitter to remember her late friend, adventurer Johnny Strange, who reportedlydied during a wingsuiting accident in Switzerland on Thursday (October 1). He was 23. Gigi and Strange went to high school together, according to the model. "RIP my friend, #JohnnyStrange— one of the most loving & adventurous spirits I've ever known," she wrote. "Bigger mountains to climb in heaven. Love."
Prior to his untimely passing, Strange called into KROQ's Kevin & Bean show on Monday (September 28) where he talked about filming a dangerous proximity video which would bring him “super close to stuff.” The Malibu native first rose to prominence at the age of 17 when he became the youngest person to ever climb what is known as the 7 summits. At age 12, Strange had already climbed Antarctica’s Mt. Vinson Massif. He was also known for other dangerous stunts like basejumping the Grand Canyon.
