Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward's Breakup Has Taken a Surprising Turn
Flipping Out's Gage Edward will be leaving Jeff Lewis Design.
Following the end of their romantic relationship in January, Jeff Lewis and Gage Edward's professional relationship has also come to an end.
Gage will be leaving Jeff Lewis Design, the Flipping Out designer announced during the April 30 episode of his Radio Andy show, Jeff Lewis Live. “My partner left me three months ago,” Jeff said on his radio show, as reported by PEOPLE. “He’s leaving the business. I feel like he’s leaving again.”
A source close to Gage told PEOPLE that he's given notice at Jeff Lewis Design (Gage did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment). Jeff said on his radio show that Gage's last day will be this coming Tuesday, May 7.
Gage had continued to work at Jeff Lewis Design following his split from Jeff at the beginning of this year. Jeff previously said on his radio show that Gage “goes to our houses and he manages the sites."
“We’ve been very civil. It’s been civil,” Jeff said of working with Gage after their breakup in February. “I want to be happy, and I want him to be happy.”
However, it appears that continuing to work together just wasn't working out for Jeff and Gage. “By working with him, it was my version of still seeing him, still spending time with him,” Jeff said on his radio show earlier this week. “Now that he’s leaving the business, it’s like breaking up again. It’s a second breakup.”
Jeff also admitted that the decision to continue to work with Gage after they called it quits "was not a healthy choice."
Unfortunately, things haven't been so great between Jeff and Gage outside of work, either. Jeff recalled an unpleasant recent meeting with Gage when he came by his house to visit Monroe, their 2-year-old daughter. “On Sunday morning, he came to see the baby and he was cold to me, really pissy. And that’s when I was like, ‘Your energy’s affecting me,'” Jeff shared. “I lived with that for 10 years. I miss a lot about Gage, but the one thing I don’t miss is the dramatic mood swings and wondering what’s going on.”
Jeff officially confirmed that he and Gage would not be getting back together during an episode of his radio show at the end of February.
