Fredrik Eklund Enters 2025 with a Bold Declaration About His Hair
The MDLNY agent is embracing a new look a year after going platinum blond.
Fredrik Eklund began 2025 with a grooming-related pledge.
On Thursday, January 2, the Million Dollar Listing New York and Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles alum took to Instagram to show off his unexpected look. The photo showed Fredrik smirking at the camera while sporting a lighter and considerably longer hairstyle than what he typically rocks. As seen in the photo below, the sides and back were kept relatively tight while the top stood several inches high with honey-brown highlights throughout.
Now, some fans may have assumed that Fredrik was simply overdue for a haircut; however, the Stockholm native made it quite clear he had every intention of keeping the longer locks.
“I’m not cutting it,” he declared in the caption.
A look back on Fredrik Eklund's platinum blond era
The post came nearly a year after Fredrik unveiled one of his most drastic hair transformations yet. On January 4, 2024, the real estate mogul shared a photo of his platinum blond hair styled in his signature pompadour.
“The Category is: Blonde Ambition,” he wrote in the post.
Fredrik touched on his haircare in a 2015 interview with Nightline, revealing his cuts had cost him about $275 every three weeks. Although the upkeep was pretty pricey, Fredrik explained that physical appearance played a part in his sales success.
“The haircuts are expensive but it’s a piece that you wear every day of your life, and everyone is going to see it,” he explained before touching on his wardrobe costs. “I think 10 percent of your income should go to clothing. This coat was $3,000… Selling is universal. We are all selling. When you go on a date, you are selling. When you go on a job interview, you are selling.”
Fredrik reflects on his "beautiful" 2024
Days before his long hair reveal, Fredrik closed out the year with a look back on his impressive 2024. The father of two posted a cinematic video that featured a few family updates and some of his biggest career wins over the past 12 months, including the sale of a $117 million New York City penthouse.
“2024 was a beautiful, magic year,” Fredrik narrated the Reel. “Actually, a bit chaotic — or maybe karmic is the better word. Out with the old, in with the new.”
He then touched on his platinum-blond era, which he referred to as his “Ken period.”
“Oh my god. Did I do that? Yeah, the year wasn’t perfect,” he said about his lightened locks before touching on his family life. “But what I learned this year is that no big deal, no penthouse deal will ever compare with the Swedish pancakes, and the messy mornings, and the bedtime stories that are so warm with the kids. I’m really grateful for 2024 despite all the imperfections. I mean, the team grew, and the kids turned 7, and through all the ups and downs, I was able to give back a little bit more to the people that need it the most.”
