Here's an Update on Fredrik Eklund's Friendship with Steve Gold, and It Has to Do with Ryan Serhant
The Million Dollar Listing New York agent gets real about his relationship dynamics with his co-stars.
Over the years, Million Dollar Listing New York viewers have watched as the agents have negotiated hot deals for clients, as well as their friendship dynamics with each other. Fredrik Eklund and Ryan Serhant have always been competitive with one another when it comes to closing a deal — which has definitely led to a, um, friendly sense of rivalry — while Steve Gold has managed to maintain a friendship with both guys.
When Fredrik and Steve stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Thursday (August 5), Fredrik commented on watching Steve and Ryan grow closer. "I was a little jealous. We actually talked about it in what's going to be the [season] finale of the show that I feel like, yeah, [Steve's] picking Ryan over me lately," Fredrik said. He continued, "We [Steve and I] go back, like, 11 years."
Andy Cohen then asked Fredrik something else about Ryan: "Do you think you always felt just a little more competitive with Ryan than all the other MDL agents?"
"Of course," Fredrik said. "Which we talk about, too, Ryan and I, because as much as we don't like each other, and we compete, I am grateful to him and I hope he is to me. We're like two planets orbiting, and we make each other more successful."
Fredrik and Steve were joined by Tyler Whitman and Kirsten Jordan on Thursday's WWHL; Ryan couldn't make it to the Clubhouse for the episode as he's been in Greece with his family.
The trio of Steve, Fredrik, and Ryan does manage to make time to see one another, as evidenced during Season 9 of MDLNY, as well as when they recently teamed up on Family Feud.
Ryan and Steve recently met up with each other in Greece, and, on occasion, post photos of meet-ups in NYC to Instagram as well.
It should be noted that Fredrik does split his time between the East Coast and the West Coast, as fans saw this season on MDLNY, which might also explain why Steve and Ryan have been hanging out more. Fredrik not only works there (which fans will get to see more of on Season 13 of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles), but he also lives out in California with husband Derek Kaplan and twins, Freddy and Milla.
