Emily Simpson is opening up about her 12-year marriage to husband Shane Simpson. The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member recently got candid about navigating the “twists and turns” of their relationship after more than a decade together.
In an Instagram post on November 12, Emily reflected on the challenges of maintaining a successful long-term relationship. “Marriage is a lot of ups and downs, twists and turns. Sometimes it’s bliss. Sometimes it’s hell. Sometimes I love this man so much I can’t even stand it, and sometimes I can’t stand him,” she wrote in the caption alongside a sweet photo of the couple posing outdoors
Emily went on to explain what makes their marriage work, writing “It takes dedication and commitment and integrity and honor. It takes devotion and patience. It’s never easy, but if you’re in it for the long haul the rewards, laughs, memories, late night chats, and witty yet mostly sarcastic jokes outweigh the challenges.”
Throughout the ups and downs, Emily says one thing she and Shane can always agree on is prioritizing their children. “So here we are... 12 years married, just mom and dad raising five incredibly happy, kind, smart and loving kids. Together for always,” she concluded the heartfelt message.
