Emily Simpson "Can't Believe" How Much Her Stepdaughters Are Growing Up

The love that Emily Simpson has for her three biological children (daughter Annabelle and twin sons Luke and Keller) just radiates off the screen on The Real Housewives of Orange County. However, Emily also cares so deeply for her two stepdaughters, her husband Shane Simpson's daughters from his first marriage (this is also Emily's second marriage), Shelby and Chanel.

Emily made that very apparent with a throwback photo taken on her wedding day with Shane, which she posted on Instagram on April 11. The two wed on February 14, 2009 "in a small ceremony at the Bellagio" in Las Vegas, Emily shared in the post, which featured a photo of herself with stepdaughters. Emily remarked that her wedding day was also "the day I gained two bonus daughters."

The RHOC mom shared that Shelby will soon be heading off to college at Brigham Young University in Utah, which she "can't believe." "Time flies by so quickly, next thing I know, we’ll be dropping off Annabelle at college and I’ll probably have to be carried away from her college by force," Emily said in the post. "Hopefully I can inspire all three girls to be confident and always kind and to work hard and get an education so they can achieve all of their dreams."

Emily recently commemorated her 10th wedding anniversary with Shane with a touching post on Instagram. "We reached a milestone of TEN years of marriage on February 14th," Emily gushed in a post published on Instagram on March 11. "And even after a decade together....we are still committed to each other, and committed to raising five kids (3 together and my two step-daughters) with heaps of love and laughter and the very best of parenting intentions to guide them to become kind, compassionate, inspiring and educated humans."

She also showed immense gratitude toward her husband for everything he does to help maintain this strong family unit. "Thank you Mr. Simpson for always putting me and our family first after all these years together. Your integrity, commitment to family and hands on approach to parenting our children is always to be commended!!" Emily wrote on Instagram. "Here’s to another 10 years!"

We saw Emily and Shane face several challenges in their marriage in Season 13 of RHOC. The couple opened up about their struggles to start a family together and whether or not they wanted to have more children in the future. 

Emily recently updated The Daily Dish on how things have been going with Shane since last season of RHOC, which you can check out in the above video. "There's up and there's downs. That's what marriage is all about," she shared. "At the end of the day, we're committed, and we'll make it work."
