Emily Simpson Has a Major Update on Her Marriage to Shane Simpson

Emily Simpson has a major reason to celebrate her marriage to Shane Simpson. The Real Housewives of Orange County couple recently commemorated their 10th wedding anniversary.

Emily just shared with fans that she and Shane marked 10 years together on Valentine's Day of this year. "We reached a milestone of TEN years of marriage on February 14th," Emily gushed in a post on Instagram. "And even after a decade together....we are still committed to each other, and committed to raising five kids (3 together and my two step-daughters) with heaps of love and laughter and the very best of parenting intentions to guide them to become kind, compassionate, inspiring and educated humans."

She then went on to thank her husband for everything he does for her and their family. "Thank you Mr. Simpson for always putting me and our family first after all these years together. Your integrity, commitment to family and hands on approach to parenting our children is always to be commended!!" Emily wrote. "Here’s to another 10 years!"

As you may recall, Emily and Shane had an unconventional start to their marriage. Shane proposed to Emily via GChat (you're going to want to press play on the above video to hear that story), and he didn't even present her with an engagement ring at the time — or ever, for that matter. “We got married so quickly, the only thing I have is a band," Emily told Page Six last December. "I don’t have an actual engagement ring. I just have a band, but it’s been 10 years. Maybe I could get one!"

Emily and Shane have also faced their fair share of challenges over the course of their 10 years together so far. The couple opened up about their struggles to start a family together and whether they want to continue to grow the Simpson clan in Season 13 of RHOC.

Emily also had to deal with a bit of drama surrounding Shane last season of RHOC, but she was always quick to stand by her man. "A lot of people have a misconception about Shane. You only see a very brief segment about him," she said on WWHL in November 2018. "I've been married to him for 10 years. He's the best damn father you will ever meet. We have five kids. He never misses a ballet performance, he takes them to school in the morning, he makes lunches, he changes diapers. He is the best dad, and he is a family man. He is committed to me and our family, so give him a break, guys!"
