As much drama as there has already been during the Married to Medicine ladies' trip to Jekyll Island, there has also been some work toward healing.

How to Watch

Watch Married to Medicine premiering November 24 on Bravo. Now streaming on Peacock and the Bravo App.

In the June 13 episodeDr. Contessa Metcalfe confided in Dr. Jackie Walters and Quad Webb about what's been going on in her marriage to Dr. Scott Metcalfe — namely that her husband has been talking to another woman who is his life coach (clip above). Dr. Jackie and Quad, both of whom experienced something similar in their marriages, gave Dr. Contessa some advice in this situation after she said that she wanted to stay married to Dr. Scott.

"I have been through some s--t," Dr. Contessa said in an interview during the episode. "But I got three kids [daughters Lauren and Laila and son Landon] and the last thing I want to do is act like giving up on a marriage is a cavalier decision you should make."

When Dr. Jackie and Quad later met with Dr. Simone Whitmore, the OBGYN was surprised to hear the latest development in Dr. Contessa and Dr. Scott's marriage after they had opened up about some of their issues during a couples' dinner earlier this season. "I knew that Scott and Contessa were having problems," Dr. Simone said in an interview during the episode. "I had no idea the extent of the problem, and I definitely had no idea that a third party just might be involved."

So, the ladies resolved to invite Dr. Scott and some of the other husbands to Jekyll Island try to help him and Dr. Contessa get their relationship back on track. "It's a slippery slope when you start sticking your nose into your friends' marriages," Dr. Jackie said in an interview during the episode. "We're taking a risk, but I know the one thing we can't do is nothing."

We'll see what happens when the husbands join the girls' trip in the Married to Medicine Season 8 finale on Sunday, June 20 at 9/8c. But by the looks of the preview of next week's episode, there's going to be an emotional conclusion to this getaway.

However, some of the Married to Medicine ladies have already shared their thoughts on the situation with Dr. Contessa and Dr. Scott, including Lisa Nicole Cloud, who tweeted during the latest episode, "[Dr. Contessa] So sorry you are going through this. It can be devastating. STAY STRONG. Stay on your knees praying."

Dr. Heavenly Kimes also sent Dr. Contessa some love during the episode. "I just love [Dr. Contessa]," she tweeted. "She is so smart and beautiful."

Dr. Jackie had more to say about Dr. Scott during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on June 6, teasing "so many conversations" with the Married to Medicine husband at the upcoming Season 8 reunion (clip below). "It was like, if you know anything about Atlanta, it was Spaghetti Junction," she said during the WWHL After Show last week. "We were over here and over there and everywhere and back again."

Dr. Contessa recently opened up about the ups and downs in her marriage to Dr. Scott while commemorating their 16th wedding anniversary on May 27. "No bulls--t marriage is tough... we ALL grow and change but the stakes are high to keep working at it. Keep it real, ask for help when necessary, and don’t stop communicating," Dr. Contessa captioned a series of photos of her and Dr. Scott through the years. "[Happy Anniversary] to the magnificent man and father who chose to spend his life with me 16 years ago! [Dr. Scott] knows I would take a bullet for him with no hesitation!"

"Some days it’s like [War of the Roses] and others it’s like a [fairytale] and I’m Tiana from [The Princess and the Frog]," Dr. Contessa continued. "I didn’t hear a promise that [marriage] is easy but it’s [worth it] ... it's the stuff an [empire] is built from! Ask [Lauren Metcalfe], [Landon Metcalfe], and [Laila Metcalfe]."
