Dorinda Medley Remembers "Dorobics Buddy [and] Forever Friend" John Giswold Following His Passing
John Giswold was familiar to RHONY viewers, having made a cameo on the series.
Dorinda Medley is mourning the loss of her friend John Giswold. She confirmed his passing in a touching tribute on Instagram.
"I am devastated to let you know my dear friend Jon Giswold passed away yesterday," she wrote on August 24. "Friendships are like homes, some of it is superficial and pretty and some are a part of your foundation. John was my ride or die, my 5:30 in the morning FaceTime, my thoughts and dreams person, my Dorobics buddy, My Forever Friend. I will miss you dearly and smile every time I see a rainbow, hear Donna Summers on the radio, and wake up too early in the morning. I Love You John Giswold. Dancing in Heaven. The world is a little less without you in it."
Jon was a familiar face to Bravo fans as he had appeared on RHONY in the past, and appeared with Dorinda at BravoCon last November. Jon was also a multi-hyphenate working as an "author, designer, philosopher" and hosted the podcast Moments That Matter with Jon Giswold.
Dorinda shared the news the day before announcing her departure from The Real Housewives of New York City on August 25.
"What a journey this has been. I have laughed and cried and tried to Make it Nice... But all things must come to an end. This was a great outlet for me to heal when my late husband Richard passed away. I have met so many interesting people and learned so much about myself, about life and about women along the way," she wrote. "Thank you to Bravo and NBC for the incredible ride and to my cast mates for constant stimulation and entertainment. I wish you all health, happiness and success. Clip! Dorinda."
