Kyle Richards Reveals that Her and Mauricio Don't Have a Prenup: "Let's Be Very Clear"
She also opened up about the "love" she feels for Morgan Wade.
Kyle Richards is setting the record straight on one particular aspect related to her recent separation from husband Mauricio Umansky.
In case you missed it, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member confirmed her split from the real estate magnate in October 2023. Though Mauricio and Kyle are separated, the pair has made no movement towards divorcing, and they continue to live in the same home.
Kyle has spoken out publicly several times about why she and Mauricio don't feel a need to formalize their split at the moment, and she just appeared on a radio show to discuss their prenup status.
Find out what Kyle revealed — and find out why she felt like her friendship with Morgan Wade has been misrepresented — by scrolling below.
Do Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky have a prenup?
In short, no, Kyle and Mauricio do not have a prenup. Though he's now the successful owner of The Agency real estate brokerage and Kyle has donned many hats as a RHOBH O.G., actress, and producer, things were different in the couples' finances when they first wed in 1996.
“We did not have a prenup. My husband did not have a penny when I married him…" Kyle said during a recent appearance on Jeff Lewis Live. "He was in the clothing business when I met him, making no money."
Kyle added that the couple "built everything together" in their empire. As such, if and when the two decide to formalize their split, Kyle said that they will be dividing their assets evenly.
“He didn’t have any money when I married him and it’s our money," she continued. "Let’s be very clear about that. It’s [a] very clean cut. Everything is half regardless."
As Mauricio and Kyle navigate the challenges of separating after 27 years of marriage, their daughters, Farrah Brittany Aldjufrie and Alexia, Sophia, and Portia Umansky, are also adjusting as well.
“It’s really tough. I do feel like my entire identity is being a wife and a mom, and that’s been really hard to wrap my head around.. And that’s what I think learning who I am without that even though obviously no matter what, I’m a mom," Kyle said. "I have four daughters, and they are my best friends, but he’s also my friend, and I do love him very much, and that’s what’s also hard.”
Why Kyle Richards Feels Like Her Friendship with Morgan Wade Has Been Misrepresented
Elsewhere in her Jeff Lewis Live appearance, Kyle sounded off on all of the speculation surrounding her relationship with country singer Morgan Wade.
"She is [in] a group of friends that I lean on, you know?" Kyle explained. "She's part of a group of friends — they're those friends [who] are the first text messages of the day, immediately. You know, there's like tiers of friendship. You may love all of these friends, but there's different tiers. You know, my first text messages of the day are four different people, but if I'm walking down the street having lunch with them, they're usually cut out of the photo."
"I, of course, when you're going through a hard time, I lean on my closest friends," she added.
Kyle said that she had never gone to therapy before (though she does see a therapist now), so "[her] friends are [her] therapists" and her "rocks" when she's "struggling."
