Dionne Warwick, Pharrell Williams Perform at Lea Black's Annual Gala
RHMIA's Marysol, Alexia, and Adriana were among (paying) guests.
For the 17th year in a row, Lea Black and attorney hubby Roy Black hosted their annual gala to benefit the Consequences Charity and Foundation – an organization that promotes education for at-risk youth. The glitzy evening included dancing, big-name performances, pricey auctions, and (thankfully!) there were no reports of party crashing (cough, Cristy, cough).
Unfortch, Andy Cohen couldn't make the shindig and rub elbows with Miami's finest, but he did tweet Lea, "Hope everybody arrived w/ a ticket!" Fellow Real Housewives of Miami star Marysol Patton joined in jabbing at the drama that unfolded this season after Cristy Rice attended the high-profile charity event plus two friends and minus any tickets. "Everyone have a ticket for Leas gala tonight? Did Roy pay up?" the newlywed tweeted to Lea, Adriana De Moura, and Alexia Echevarria. Maybe Cristy actually found it amusing -- she did retweet it (should we expect that to come up during tonight's live reunion?).
Despite that taste of Twitter cattiness, Lea and her tireless committee lived up to their over-the-top reputation by treating guests to performances by Dionne Warwick, Pharrell Williams, and Pitbull. "I know it's a terrible photo but i love Dione (sic) Warwick. Highlight of my life," Marysol tweeted. Also soaking up the night's entertainment, Adriana posted, "This year the Black's gala rocked! Pit bull is incredible and I love the song Papa L'americano!" The next morning, the hot mama added, "I'm trying to recover from Lea's gala last night...danced so much, still can't feel my left toe!"
In a nod to Dionne, Queen of Miami Lea summed up another successful year by tweeting, "Partys over ! Raised a lot of $ - that's what friends are for."
