David Parnes Makes His Return to MDLLA: See Why He's Back (For Now)

The Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles alum was ready to get to work as he made a surprise appearance in Season 15.

By Sophie Vilensky

After saying goodbye to Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles following Season 13, David Parnes just made a surprise appearance on the show  — and he brought some words of encouragement with him.

How to Watch

Watch Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles on Bravo Wednesdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

David and his business partner, James Harris, first joined MDLLA in Season 7. Over the years, fans followed along as they made multimillion-dollar real estate deals as part of Mauricio Umansky's company The Agency before leaving the show ahead of Season 14.

During Season 15, Episode 6 of MDLLA, David showed up at a listing to chat with Tracy Tutor.

"How have you been?" asked Tracy, to which he responded, "Good, good. Busy."

David was around to discuss Tracy's Stone Canyon listing, a gorgeous — albeit incomplete — 10,000 square-foot home near Hotel Bel-Air.

"This is a whole vibe," he said after getting the tour. "In a good market, you could ask 25 [million dollars] and probably get close to 22."

Still, the construction zone next door was a tough sell.

"If anyone can do it, Trace..." he added kindly before heading out.

Why did David Parnes and James Harris leave MDLLA?

David and James announced their exit from MDLLA in April 2022. Their reasoning? It was just time to move on.

"We never intended to come to Los Angeles to be on TV, and as fate had it, we started shooting a show which changed our business and our lives. From starting families to watching our kids grow, to climbing from [$1 million] in sales to over $5 billion in sales, we would never in our wildest dreams have imagined the world watching it happen along with us," they wrote via Instagram at the time. "After 7 amazing seasons spanning over 9 years, we feel the time has come to move on and leave the show which in many ways, has defined us. It’s a move that we have thought long and hard about and we feel that as our business has evolved, we need to keep moving. We thank all our fans wholeheartedly and vow that we won’t stop because we can’t stop."

What are David Parnes and James Harris up to today?

As is evident from his appearance this episode, David is still in the luxury real estate business. But not under the same circumstances where we last saw him!

In February 2024, David and James announced they were leaving The Agency after a decade to join Carolwood Estates, a two-year-old agency founded in 2022 by Drew Fenton, Nick Segal, and Ed Leyson.

On the personal side of things, David announced the birth of his second daughter, Lily Jane Parnes, with his wife Adrian Abnosi in January 2022. (The couple have another daughter, India, whom they welcomed in 2018.)

Meanwhile, James revealed he was "moving on" from the home he and his family had lived in for the past five years in January 2022. "End of an unbelievable era," he said in an Instagram video showing the almost empty house. "Five years of just unbelievable memories."
