Taylor Swift Influenced Craig Conover's New Career Move: "Never Really Anticipated…" (EXCLUSIVE)
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish, Craig Conover shared how the songstress prompted his investment in Spritz Society.
Craig Conover had a major "Love Story" when he decided to become an investor in the drink brand Spritz Society — and it's all thanks to Taylor Swift.
The Southern Charm-er collaborated with founders Ben Soffer, Claudia Oshry, and Jackie Oshry on Spritz Society's newest flavor: Lemon Iced Tea. And, it turns out that Craig first tried the beverage when he and his girlfriend Paige DeSorbo were heading out for the aforementioned songstress' concert.
He opened up about the collaboration during an exclusive chat with The Daily Dish.
"I was first introduced to Spritz Society last summer on my way to a Taylor Swift concert. They were on the bus and I was drinking them and loved them because they were wine based," Craig told The Daily Dish. "My friends, Ben Soffer and Claudia Oshry, ended up being at the show and I quickly found out that they were the founders. The more I learned, the more excited I got about the brand, so it led to a natural progression of me being involved."
The Winter House alum admitted, "I never really anticipated I would venture into the alcohol space."
"But, after trying Spritz Society and talking more about the company with Ben, it just felt like a natural fit and something I was really excited to be a part of," he continued. "I became an investor in April and have been working with them to develop my flavor, Lemon Iced Tea, since."
Craig wanted to work on a Lemon Iced Tea flavor because it felt "authentic" to his "South Carolina roots," and because it's something he actually does "drink and love."
Craig Conover shares an update on Sewing Down South
Now that Craig's hard iced tea collaboration has launched, he's looking to bring the drink to his business, Sewing Down South.
"We’re definitely excited to have Lemon Iced Tea at some upcoming events in the store," Craig told The Daily Dish. "It always adds a nice touch. We had other Spritz Society flavors at our last event and everybody was really loving it."
Craig, who is also about to open a restaurant called By the Way with fellow Charm-er Austen Kroll, is already thinking ahead to what he wants to do next.
"I'm always looking for opportunities to evolve my brand and I’ve found the best way to do that is to be a part of projects that feel like an extension of myself," the Charleston resident explained. "That way I’m passionate about what I’m creating and it's something that will automatically resonate with my fans."
