Craig Conover Responds to Criticism of His Relationship with Paige DeSorbo
Plus, see what the Southern Charm-er had to say when Andy Cohen called him out for not being engaged yet.
Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo are living life on their own terms.
The Southern Charm cast member explained as much during Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on September 21 after a viewer asked about his decision to "stay" in his relationship with Paige "when it seems like she has no interest in moving in the direction of marriage.

Craig's response to the question was rather simple: "Oh, you know, we love each other. And you can't let the stress of what might happen in the future ruin today."
To be fair, his answer probably would've been a lot different in the past. After all, as Andy Cohen pointed out, "I remember last year, you sat in that blue chair and you were like, 'We will be engaged by Thanksgiving.'"
Craig, however, chalked that up to him being "stupid" and using "rom-coms to go off of."
"I thought you dated, there was a conflict, then you got engaged, and married. Clearly that's not real life," he added. "I had some growing up to do. I mean, I'm a lot better today than I was a year ago, but last year I thought I was ready [for marriage]."

Now, Craig's not in a rush for anything, much less marriage. Instead, he said he's simply "excited for the day when it happens."
And until then, he and Paige are doing just fine. "We just had our two-year anniversary ... We're in a really good place. We're excited."

That's not to say that Craig and Paige don't deal with their fair share of relationship troubles, though. On WWHL, Craig even said that by watching Southern Charm Season 9, viewers are sure to see some of their "conflicts."
Some of these are teased in both the season trailer and Craig's official bio; the latter of which describes Craig's wish for Paige to be “by his side in Charleston,” despite her desire to stay in New York City.
A press release for the show adds, “The construction on Craig’s house is a work-in-progress, and so is his relationship status with Paige. Craig finds himself in dating limbo and is hoping for her to commit to a move down South.”
The couple grappled with similar issues during Summer House Season 7. Paige, for her part, found the idea of moving difficult for one major reason: her family.
“People sometimes don’t talk about how scary it really is getting older and growing up,” she explained at the time. “I have only known living in the state of New York, I’m very close to my parents, and the thought of being a plane ride away to my family when I’m starting my own family was very scary to me — it still is very scary to me.”
