Craig Conover and Austen Kroll's new Charleston bar, By the Way, is coming soon, and the tavern's official Instagram has been sharing many exciting updates recently.
"Construction is underway at [By The Way]," read the caption of a May 31 Instagram post. "We will be a place for all guests, no matter what time of day! Incredible cocktails, delicious bites, and plates created by Chef Marcus Shell and the very best local entertainment. The PERFECT neighborhood den."
Days later, on June 6, a separate post announced a "merch drop is coming next month!"

What is By the Way bar in Charleston?
As Craig told Entertainment Tonight in January, By the Way is a "neighborhood tavern" and will be a "really intimate space."
"Charleston has grown so much in the last few years and brought in a lot of travelers, so we wanted to create a space where locals and travelers could hang out together and enjoy the neighborhood," he added.
In the same interview, Austen declared, "We’re so thrilled to be able to work together to create a new cornerstone in the Charleston community."
When is Craig Conover and Austen Kroll's new bar, By the Way, opening?
"The bar in Charleston, By the Way, opens in July," Craig told Page Six in an interview published May 10.
Although the bar's official Instagram bio notes that it is "coming SUMMER 2024," it seems there may be a slight delay. A May 31 comment by the account noted it is now "coming this Fall!!"

Menu Details on Austen Kroll & Craig Conover's New Bar, By the Way
In January, Craig told Entertainment Tonight, "The menu is going to have elevated bar fare and approachable cocktails."
More recently, an April 30 Instagram post from By the Way teased what's to come. "At By The Way, there will be no shortage of dancing, duck or deviled eggs!" reads the caption. As the photos showed, the menu includes items such as "Nduja deviled Eggs with [Red Clay hot sauce] chili crisp" and a Duck confit sandwich with cranberry duck jelly, arugula, and goat cheese on ciabatta.
