Colin MacRae Shares a New Look at His Life with His Girlfriend
Go inside the BDSY alum's private island stay with Brittany Amodeo.
Colin MacRae hasn’t abandoned his adventurous spirit.
In the year since exiting Below Deck Sailing Yacht, the New Zealand native has given regular life updates on Sailing Parlay Revival, a YouTube series documenting his travels at sea. Colin promoted the latest episode via Instagram on Sunday (December 15), sharing a screenshot of him and his girlfriend lying in bed.
“We get an unexpected surprise in bed!” the video was titled. “This ain’t clickbait, something legit jumps into our bed.”
Colin takes fans inside his private island stay with Brittany Amodeo
The December 15 episode followed Colin and Brittany Amodeo during their stay on Ratua, a private resort island in the Vanuatu archipelago. Colin explained that the island was almost empty due to a recent airline bankruptcy that halted all flights to Ratua.
“It is one of the most picturesque places I’ve ever seen,” he said in the video, “and we soon became friends with the owner, Leah, who had made us an offer we could absolutely not pass up.”
Colin, Brittany, and the Parlay Revival team were invited to stay on Ratua Island before heading to Papua New Guinea. The crew members spent the following days soaking up the South Pacific sun and learning more about the reconstructed island, which was previously destroyed by a cyclone.
Colin and Brittany got an "unexpected" guest in their bed
Colin and Brittany kicked off Day 2 with a quick and funny update filmed from their bed.
“How was your sleep last night?” Brittany asked her boyfriend.
“Amazing. This breeze just rolling through this villa is just incredible. These villas are 200 years old,” Colin said. “And that front door just opened on its own and then she freaked out because something was on the bed touching her.”
“But it was pitch black, like, truly pitch black,” Brittany added. “I couldn’t see a thing. So I freaked out and kicked the thing and it flung... and it was the cat.”
The rest of the trip consisted of horseback riding, a pig-hunting excursion, and a trip to a freshwater spring deep in the jungle.
“It was unreal to be swimming in a freshwater pool like this in the middle of nowhere,” Colin said. “Ratua had been spoiling us rotten.”
Colin clarifies the timeline of his relationships with Brittany & Daisy Kelliher
The former chief engineer spoke about his relationship in July 2023, just weeks after the BDSY Season 4 reunion aired. Colin specifically responded to allegations he had cheated on his ex-girlfriend/crewmate Daisy Kelliher with Brittany.
“The thing that’s been hard to take is people calling me a cheater,” Colin said in an Instagram video. “I was casually seeing Britt, my videographer, and we called it off because we wanted to work together and make videos — so we thought it was best if we just don’t see each other. And then I went and did Below Deck [Sailing Yacht] completely single. But I told Britt I would probably end up hooking up with Daisy because we had already hooked up in the past. And that’s what happened.”
Colin said he began getting more serious with Daisy during Season 4 but chose to end the relationship when things “started to turn a little bit toxic.”
“I called it off, and then over a month later, I started to see Britt again,” he continued. “So there’s plenty of reasons to dislike me, trust me, but cheating probably isn’t one of them. I’ve never been a cheater, never will be."
What's next for Colin and his girlfriend, Brittany?
Brittany still works alongside Colin as the Parlay Revival videographer. The couple recently embarked on a weeklong sailing trip in Catalina with former BDSY chefs Ileisha Dell and Marcos Spaziani.
"It doesn’t get much better than this, the ultimate A team!" Colin captioned a December 15 Instagram. "Taking 11 patrons sailing for a week to Catalina island. The food is going to be next level!!"
