Carl Radke Tells a Producer the *Real* Reason Why Kyle Cooke Wasn't a Groomsman
In an interview, Carl Radke admits that Lindsay Hubbard played a major role in the decision.
Though Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard ended up calling off their wedding (which was scheduled for November 2023), the two were still in the process of finalizing details for their big day when Summer House Season 8 was filmed — including figuring out their respective wedding parties.
In a preview for Season 8, Episode 7, which will air on April 4, Carl has an important question to ask Kyle Cooke at the racecar party regarding his role at the wedding.
Instead of asking Kyle to be a groomsman, Carl has a different idea in mind.
Carl Radke Wanted Kyle Cooke to Be a "Flower Boy" Instead of a Groomsman
In the preview clip, which you can check out at the top of this post, Carl asks Kyle if he'll be a "flower boy" in his wedding to Lindsay, along with two Summer House alums.
"I really wanted you to be a part of our wedding. I would love for you to be a flower boy, if you're OK with this," Carl says to Kyle as they're sitting together in a racecar. "We've got Andrea [Denver], Luke [Gulbranson], and you as flower boys."

Kyle Warned Lindsay that Carl Wanted the Marriage More than the Actual Relationship
Why Did Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard Break Up?
Kyle is slightly confused by Carl's question, as Carl was the best man/officiant in his own 2021 wedding to Amanda Batula. "So you have groomsmen?" Kyle asks, and Carl responds, "I do."
"But, I'm not a groomsman?" the Loverboy founder confirms for clarification.
"Your role is going to be the flower boy," Carl reiterates.
Why wasn't Kyle Cooke a groomsman in Carl Radke's wedding to Lindsay Hubbard?
In a confessional interview, Carl explains that it's been "a little bit of a process" to decide on his groomsmen list because he has "a lot of friends."
A Summer House producer then asks if Kyle's role was a "demotion" because it "[feels] a little bit like a demotion."
"I mean, this is really how I really deep down feel. Lindsay didn't want Kyle to be a groomsman," Carl admits. "Did that come out of Lindsay's mouth, 'I don't want Kyle to be a groomsman'? No. But because of what Kyle had done and said previously..."
A Season 7 flashback highlighting an argument between Kyle and Lindsay then plays, and Carl reflects on how their friendship has evolved. "Yes, last year with Kyle and I wasn't great, but I want Kyle there," he continues in his interview. "But, I also have to play ball with my wife — or, future wife."
Back in the car, Kyle tells Carl that he is in full support of Carl and Lindsay's relationship.
"I know that it's been a tough couple of weeks, but I want you to know I'm here for you guys,' he says. "You might think [that] I'm not in your corner, but I love you and I love Lindsay, man."
"Last summer was never about our friendship, it was a massive adjustment," Kyle continues. Carl agrees, adding that he's happy that they are on a "different trajectory" this summer.
"I'm just so glad we're where we're at," Carl continues.
"But I'm not a groomsman?" Kyle asks again.
"Flower boy," Carl concludes.
