David Parnes & James Harris List Brittany Murphy’s Former Home For $18M: "Stunning"
The MDLLA alums are selling the house once owned by Brittany Murphy — as well as Bitney Spears — located in the Hollywood Hills.
David Parnes and James Harris are no strangers to listing some majorly big properties. The Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles alums have been behind some pretty big property transactions, but one of their latest properties might be one of their biggest to date for one very special reason — it has had some pretty famous owners, including the late Brittany Murphy.
David and James are the listing agents for a property located in the Hollywood Hills. The house, according to People, has been owned by Brittany Spears as well as Brittany Murphy, who purchased it fully furnished from the "...Baby One More Time" singer in 2003 for $3.85 million. The luxurious home, which has since changed owners since Brittany last owned it in 2009, is located at 1895 Rising Glen Road and is now listed for $17,995,000.
David took to his Instagram account on Nov. 10, where he posted an Instagram Reel showing off the interior of the gorgeous property. In the video, the house can be seen in all of its beautiful glory, complete with marble countertops, sprawling staircases, and a beautiful infinity pool.
"This architectural beauty, nestled within a coveted enclave of celebrity homes, has undergone a complete metamorphosis with meticulous craftsmanship," David wrote in the caption of the Instagram post showing off the property.

In addition to having some famous owners, the home, according to David's Instagram caption, boasts "stunning panoramic views" and luxury on "every corner" — "from custom wet bars and movie theater, to the wine closet and elevator." "A newly designed fitness studio and massage room wing, complete with a private terrace, ensures that wellness is always within reach," he wrote.
According to the home's official listing page on the Carolwood Estate's website, it has six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and plenty of places to entertain guests, like the redesigned chef's kitchen, pool with an eight-foot waterfall, and dedicated screening room. Plus, it's located "minutes away" from "the best that Los Angeles has to offer."

David Parnes and James Harris' Latest Career Milestone
This listing is just another milestone the Bond Street partners have accomplished together. In August 2024, both David and James were named Leaders of Influence in Residential Real Estate by Los Angeles Business Journal for 2024. Both James and David took to their respective Instagram accounts, where they reflected on the good news with their Instagram followers.
