Brittany Says She's "Glad" She Found the "Strength" to Leave Jax: "I Lost My Sparkle"

Brittany Cartwright is setting the record straight on any cheating rumors regarding her and Jax Taylor’s recent split.
This chapter of their lives in the suburbs as parents is shown up close and personal in Bravo’s all-new series The Valley, airing Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. That includes their separation and how it's impacted their family.
Brittany joined Kristen Doute for a new interview with The Daily Dish, where she opened up about her marriage with Jax and what she thinks about him as a father to their 2-year-old son, Cruz.
Brittany Cartwright Denies Jax Taylor Cheated
The couple married in June 2019 in Kentucky, but Brittany announced they were “taking time apart” on their podcast When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany in February 2024.
“We just had our issues with fighting with each other,” Brittany said. “There wasn’t any infidelity. I know that’s been a rumor going around. It wasn’t anything like that.”
Cruz deserves a happy home to grow up in, Brittany said, which is partially why she made the tough choice to pack up her things and leave.
“It was just not a happy feeling, and I was like, losing my sparkle a little bit,” Brittany added. “I started to notice that, and I think after I had my son, I woke up a little bit and it made me realize like he can’t grow up in this environment.”
Kristen offered her support to Brittany, saying everyone’s “proud” of her — and that Brittany also deserves a happy environment for herself.

“I always say … Stella got her groove back … Brittany’s getting her sparkle back,” Kristen said.
Why did Brittany Cartwright break up with Jax Taylor?
Brittany likened their situation to living with a “roommate” she’s constantly fighting with.
“It just wore on me after nine years of dealing with a personality like that,” Brittany said. “We’re very different in a lot of ways and he has grown in many ways as well.”
Jax is an amazing father to their son Cruz, according to Brittany. She's just not happy with him as a husband.
“He’s just not the best partner right now and if, you know, if he works on some things, maybe in the future, we could get back together," Brittany said. "I’m not really sure about that situation yet, but for right now, the space is much needed for both of us. I’m just glad that I had the strength to finally take myself out of that situation ‘cause I didn’t think I would ever, ever, ever leave him.”
