Brittany and Kristen Treat Their Friend Battling Leukemia to the "Trip of a Lifetime"
The Vanderpump Rules ladies brought Jared Lipscomb to Las Vegas prior to his bone marrow transplant.
Brittany Cartwright and Kristen Doute did something truly special to support their friend Jared Lipscomb during his battle with leukemia.
The Vanderpump Rules ladies took their makeup artist pal on a little getaway to treat him to a spa day at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino earlier this week. The trio then sang and danced the night away at Christina Aguilera's concert in Sin City.
"I'm a fighter!!" Jared, who was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in August 2019, wrote in his Instagram Story as Xtina sang her hit song "Fighter." He also wrote, "#f--kcancer."
Jared, who called the trip "a necessary mental health break" in his Instagram Story, said he was "living my best life" as he danced the night away at the front of the theater, right up near the stage, during the concert.
Brittany, Kristen, and Jared weren't the only VIPs at the show. Michelle Obama was also sitting in the audience right in front of the Vanderpump Rules crew.
Brittany and Kristen organized the trip for Jared as something of a last hurrah before he goes in for a bone marrow transplant to treat his leukemia on March 6.
"These past couple of days in Vegas have been amazing!! If you don’t know [Jared's] story he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and finally found a match for his bone marrow transplant which will cure him of his cancer," Brittany wrote in a post on Instagram on March 5. "The recovery is about 4 months and he goes in TOMORROW to start the transplant process, sooooo we wanted to spoil the heck out of him in Vegas!!"
Brittany also shared how much she admired Jared's handling of his fight against leukemia. "I’m so lucky to know Jared and witness his strength! He is always so happy and so positive and I wish there were more people like him in this world," she gushed in the post. "Send all the love and prayers to Jared as he continues his journey and KICKS CANCER'S ASS!!"
Jared called this vacation "the trip of a lifetime" during a recent interview with DailyMail.com. "The support of Brittany and Kristen has meant the absolute world to me. This trip was the perfect getaway before I check into hospital tomorrow to have my bone marrow transplant. I’ll be almost bed ridden for six months while I recover, so this was so special to do," he said. "I’ve always wanted to see Christina Aguilera and to get to see her with the girls was amazing. Even cooler was the fact that Michelle Obama was sitting one row in front of us."
He also reflected on the trip on Instagram, writing, "I had too much fun the last couple of days with [Brittany and Kristen] in Vegas. Feeling overwhelmed with gratitude, love [and] support but also very nervous about checking into the hospital to start the bone marrow transplant process. For now I’ll keep riding this positive energy high from such a fun trip. Remember only good vibes [and] positivity."
