Braunwyn Windham-Burke Reunites with Sean Burke Amid Their "Trial Separation"
"This is what a modern family looks like," Braunwyn said of the recent reunion with her partner.
Just weeks after announcing their plans to "take a few months apart," Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Sean Burke are spending some time together. Braunwyn shared that Sean visited her and their kids while they spend some extended time in Hawaii.
Braunwyn reflected on the experience on Instagram in what she dubbed a "Sean Appreciation Post."
"This is what a modern family looks like. Since Sean and I made the decision to embark on our 'trial separation,' we have learned so, so much, and gained an insight that is invaluable on the importance of communication, patience, empathy, and independence," she wrote on Wednesday (August 12). "Sean flew out here to Kauai for a couple days (heading home tonight) and it felt great to all be back together. "
She reflected more on their current situation. "Again, there is no road map for what we are doing. 'Nesting' parenting is the closest to what we are doing, but not exactly. We don’t need to put a label on it. What matters is that our children are happy, we are happy, and we are family," she wrote. "People jump all over us when we say that we are best friends- but it’s true. We are best friends, and we always will be."
Braunwyn came out as a lesbian in an interview with GLAAD back in December 2020. Sean quickly showed his support for Braunwyn. "For over 25 years I have loved and supported you, and I'm not about to stop," he wrote on Twitter at the time. Braunwyn later opened up about navigating their "modern marriage" last year.
Earlier this summer, Braunwyn confirmed she is still dating Fernanda Rocha, who also appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County.
