Braunwyn Windham-Burke Confirms She's Dating Fernanda Rocha
Braunwyn opened up about her relationship with the fellow Real Housewives of Orange County alum.
Braunwyn Windham-Burke has confirmed that she's dating Fernanda Rocha, who appeared on The Real Housewives of Orange County in Season 6. Braunwyn confirmed the relationship in a statement to Page Six on Monday (June 21).
“Having someone special in my life who was an out and proud woman on reality television was so helpful in the beginning stages of our relationship,” the RHOC alum said. “What started as a friendship has become something more — I am so grateful for her — she is beyond amazing. Not only has she been a source of strength, but she has taken me under her wing and helped me navigate my coming out. Without the show, I never would have met Fernanda, so I am forever grateful for that. She’s taking me away for a few days today, and that is exactly what I needed.”
Braunwyn also addressed her connection to Fernanda in an interview with E! News, adding that she and Fernanda are "definitely dating." The relationship comes months after Braunwyn shared that she and girlfriend Kris had split up in April after several months together. Since then, Braunwyn and Fernanda attended the GUARDaHEART Foundation's Unmasked Heart Disease event over the weekend.
Of her relationship with Fernanda, Braunwyn added to E! News, "We have been hanging out. We are close and she's been an amazing support to me. I'm glad I met her. I will say this: There have been some rumors about when we went from being friends to a little bit more than friends. It was after she got divorced so there's nothing salacious like that happening. We've been hanging out for awhile. We didn't become more than friends until recently. She's definitely special."
The pair have been spotted at several events together recently. This week, both Braunwyn and Fernanda shared a photo of themselves together to their respective Instagram Stories from a recent event.
Braunwyn came out as a lesbian in an interview with GLAAD back in December 2020. Life partner Sean Burke quickly showed his support for Braunwyn: "For over 25 years I have loved and supported you, and I'm not about to stop." Braunwyn remains close to Sean after the pair opened up about navigating their "modern marriage" last year.
She posted a Father's Day tribute to her partner over the weekend. Together they are parents to seven kids, and she called him "a beautiful dad." Braunwyn added about Sean, "Thank you, endlessly, for always supporting me and our kids, having our backs, and loving us. One thing you and I share is time- 26 years of amazing moments, and even more to come. No matter how much our 'modern family' shifts and changes, you will always be the best dad in the world. Happy Father’s Day, Sean, love you."
