Brad Goreski: Coming Out to My Mom was a Beautiful Moment
Style guru relives the highs (and lows) for his new book.
It's about to get personal for Brad Goreski. The werk master's first book, Born to Be Brad: My Life in Style So Far, arrives this March and includes all the pit stops along his fashion takeover road trip.
"[F]or so many years by people in the playground and out in the schoolyard, I was called names. It was really rough. I think it's important for people to know that if I can make it and I can do it by just being myself and doing the hard work, then anybody can do it," the It's a Brad, Brad, World star tells mediabistro.
Of course, Brad also promises happy tears while reading – just like on his show. "Being asked 'What was it like when you came out to your mom? What did she say?', that brings up a lot of stuff because it was a really beautiful moment in my life," the bow tie lover confides. "On the flip side of that, to be writing this book that goes back to my first day in kindergarten and kind of ends right now, everything was really raw."
