Bethenny Frankel Just Shared a Major Update About Her Love Life

Bethenny Frankel confirmed reports that she's back with boyfriend Dennis Shields during Part 2 of The Real Housewives of New York City reunion Wednesday night. "I am with Dennis," Bethenny shared with Andy Cohen and the RHONY ladies. 

Bethenny went public with her relationship with Dennis last year. But after he was seen supporting Bethenny during the launch of her charity, B Strong, during an episode of RHONY in May (clip above), she revealed that she was "not in a relationship by choice" in her Bravotv.com blog. 

The RHONY mogul explained why she initially decided to take a break with Dennis during the reunion. "Yeah, more than giving it another shot, things had to be dealt with and sort of a gauntlet had to be gotten through and it happened. And I'm in a better place, and I'm in a better place to make a sane decision," Bethenny shared. "I mean, I have my moments where I don't trust and I'm afraid. And I've learned a lot about myself in the last year, year-and-a-half. I've been working on myself more. I've been in therapy. And I have a difficult time getting close to people, especially since my situation, I do not allow people in. Dennis has said, 'You will not allow me to love you,' because it's very, very hard."

When Andy asked Bethenny if she pushed Dennis away, the RHONY mom explained why they needed some time apart. "No, I rightfully ended the relationship because of the circumstances surrounding my divorce and surrounding his divorce. And, you know, a person who has been married that many years needs to go through a certain cycle," she said. "I think that I needed him to make changes that I really didn't think that he would make, and I think that thinking the possibility of losing me really scared him straight, to be honest. And I'm a different person than I was then, because I'm just happier, I'm just freer." 

At the time, Bethenny said that she was still dealing with what she likened to "torment and torture" with her ex-husband, Jason Hoppy, but now she said she feels "happier and nicer." "I only want to be with someone if they're totally additive. I don't need to fill a slot. I don't need to check a box," she said. "And Dennis is that person."
