Ben Robinson Says He'll Be "More Cranky" on the New Season of Below Deck
The #BelowDeck chef says he was thrown "straight into the fire again" after his season on #BelowDeckMed.
Ben Robinson might just be one of the hardest working chefs in yachting. After completing a charter season in Greece on Below Deck Mediterranean, the chef is hopping aboard the Valor to join the crew for the upcoming Season 4 of Below Deck.
Ben told The Daily Dish that last season of Below Deck Med had an impact on how he handled the new season of Below Deck. "It's a lot. I mean, I think I was just kind of on a rollercoaster ride when I showed up. I think I had a lot more momentum behind me," he said, adding that working back-to-back seasons may have taken a toll. "If you do one season a year, you kind of gather yourself again," he said. "I was just thrown straight into the fire again. It was different."
Captain Lee Rosbach suggested that Below Deck Med may have affected Ben's attitude in the upcoming charter season. "I was probably a little more cranky maybe, yeah," Ben agreed with the Below Deck boss. "They were both very tough. I survived, I guess. It's good. It was fun."
All in all, Ben seems to have fond memories of Season 1 of Below Deck Med. He said he still keeps in touch with many of his crewmates, including Captain Mark Howard, Bobby Giancola, Bryan Kattenburg, and even Hannah Ferrier and Tiffany Copeland, with whom he was briefly romantically involved.
Captain Lee, who followed last season of Below Deck Med closely, said he was shocked to see who caught Ben's eye aboard the Ionian Princess. "Some things I expected out of Ben, but he surprised me in a couple of areas. Who I thought would spark or pique his romantic interest didn't really," Captain Lee told The Daily Dish. "I didn't see the Tiffany thing coming at all. That was just out of the blue."
Ben said he didn't expect to hook-up with Tiffany in the season finale of Below Deck Med, either. "Tiffany and I are fine. We're good friends. It's all good," he told The Daily Dish of where things stand between him and the stewardess these days. "I think we're not really gonna jump into a relationship or anything, but we had fun, and it was a good time."
There's more drama in store for Ben and the rest of the Valor crew when Below Deck returns for Season 4 on Tuesday, September 6 at 9/8c. Catch a sneak peek of the rough waters ahead, below.
