Go Inside Captain Glenn Shephard’s “Christmas Weekend Getaway” with Girlfriend Danelis
The Below Deck Sailing Yacht captain found “one of the coolest towns in Spain” he’s ever seen.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht’s Captain Glenn Shephard wasn’t home for the holidays this year — and he seems more than OK with that. On Tuesday, December 27, he shared 10 Instagram photos from the “Christmas weekend getaway” he and his girlfriend, Danelis, took to Castile-La Mancha, Spain.
While exploring the region, the couple visited such sites as the Chinchilla de Monte-Aragón Castle and Alcalá del Júcar, but it sounds like their time in the historic walled town of Cuenca was the highlight. “It was already after dark when we rocked up in the new town of Cuenca and couldn’t figure out what all the fuss was about until we took a right and ended up all the way up in the old town,” he captioned his post, in part. “Then we could see why it’s a world heritage site. Definitely one of the coolest towns in Spain and I’ve seen a lot of them, highly recommended.”
Those aren’t the only travel tips Captain Glenn offered either. After a commenter asked for his must-see destinations in Spain, he listed Mallorca, Salamanca, Segovia, Madrid, Seville, Toledo, and Córdoba.
Unfortunately, “reality [reared its] ugly head” and he had to head back to work — “at least until New Year’s Eve weekend.”
Days before he shared his latest round of travel photos, Captain Glenn sent his followers warm holiday wishes. “From myself, Danelis and the whole gang here on Parsifal III, I’d like to wish you all, Happy Holidays, a very Merry Christmas and of course a Happy New Year, I’ve got big hopes for 2023,” he captioned the photo of himself and his girlfriend in matching Santa hats on December 24. “Please apply whichever season’s greeting is most appropriate.”
Globe-trotting is hardly something new for the couple. Just since they went public with their relationship in November, they jetted from Barcelona to Mexico City and later enjoyed “playing tourists” in Spain’s Canary Islands. Add to that a visit to some Christmas markets in Paris, where they drank hot spiced wine with friends.
So once Captain Glenn’s post-Christmas charter ends, there’s really no telling where in the world he and Danelis might ring in the new year.
