Does Danny Zureikat Still Keep In Touch with This Season's Charter Guests?
You're not going to believe who the #BelowDeckMed yachtie talks to the most these days.
Danny Zureikat really hit it off with many of the charter guests this season of Below Deck Mediterranean and vice versa. However, his camaraderie with the guests often got him into trouble with his superiors. In fact, it ultimately led to Captain Mark Howard giving him a plane ticket home.
The deckhand told The Daily Dish earlier this summer that he is still "baffled" by how his Below Deck Med crewmates reacted to his relationship with the guests since that's how he's always acted on charter in the past. "My personality is extremely consistent — it never wavers — and has always been received positively by previous charter guests, including Marc Anthony," Danny told The Daily Dish.
It seemed like the friendships Danny formed on board the Ionian Princess would continue long after the season ended (we're looking at you, Morgan). So does Danny still keep in contact with any of this season's charter guests? "Absolutely! To this day, I keep in touch with most of them," he said. "I’ve really kept up with Jerry Thibeau and those who accompanied him on the charter."
Thanks to Jerry, Danny said he now gets recognized as "Daniel San" on the street "all the time." "I’m blown away when people approach me in general. So when someone yells 'Daniel San!' it really cracks me up!" Danny gushed. "But I can’t say the nickname surprises me. I’ve always been told I look like the Karate Kid."
In case you were wondering, Danny told Bravotv.com back in May that he is still in touch with Morgan, the Tilted Kilt model he shared a kiss with this season. "Yes, we are still in touch. We both live incredibly busy lives, but we make a concerted effort to maintain the connection," Danny said. "She is a great person and I am lucky to have her in my life."
Even though Danny's interactions with the charter guests ultimately put his job in jeopardy, he said he wouldn't have acted any differently. "I would say now, my feelings on the issue are more leveled, but I certainly don’t regret what I did," he said. "My personality is big… it’s bold. I feed off making others happy. It gives me purpose. When all is said and done, that took precedent with our charter guests."
