ICYMI, We Have More Info from Below Deck Med’s Kyle Viljoen on Charter Guest Frank
The Below Deck Med stew also shared an update on his BF, Zachary.
Amid all the relationship ups and downs on this season of Below Deck Mediterranean, stew Kyle Viljoen certainly caused a happy buzz when he met charter guest Frank and the twosome found themselves attracted to each other.
During Season 7, fans have seen sparks fly between Kyle and Frank, which even led to a cheer-inducing kiss (clip above). And while (spoiler alert) we know it ultimately didn’t work out, in a recent interview on the Mention It All podcast, the Below Deck Med stew opened up a bit more about his relationship with Frank, spilling more tea about their short-lived romance.
“It was just so intense, and when you’re dating, you have big googly eyes — you don’t really see the person’s flaws or what else they are behind all of that. It takes three months to see if that person is going to work out for you or not, and I didn’t have three months, I had literally three days. I thought, ‘Let’s put everything in there and see if you give me everything I need in this quick time,’” he said. “I needed to know as much as I could. That’s why it was so intense, so powerful, and so romantic at that stage.”
Kyle also shared the timeline of when he met up with Frank in New York City after the charter season, which took place around the time he met his current partner, Zachary. “I told people, ‘Frank got me Zachary,’ but they never knew each other. I was in [Frank’s] apartment after we decided we were going to be friends, and I went on the dating app Grindr — my first time ever, OK!” he said on the podcast. “That’s how our relationship started.”
And yes, for the record, Kyle and Zachary are still very much together. “It worked out more than I could have ever hoped for… Zachary does so many things that I never knew I needed, that I never knew I had in me,” he said. “That’s what he brings to me every single day. Being away from him is even torturous, so I literally know I’ve found my life partner.”
