Surprise! Below Deck Med Alum Julia d'Albert Pusey Is Married
The Season 1 stew just celebrated her first wedding anniversary with husband Matty Johnson.
Life since Season 1 of Below Deck Mediterranean has been pretty sweet for Julia d'Albert Pusey. She launched not one, but TWO companies: natural pregnancy products company Myrtle & Maude and swimwear line Girl Alliance. Oh, and she also got married to longtime boyfriend Matty Johnson.
Julia just celebrated her first wedding anniversary on December 8 and commemorated the occasion with a joyous photo of herself and Matty on the big day at All Hallows Church in Bardsey, England. "A year on and still smiling!" Julia gushed in the post.
Below Deck Med fans will remember Matty from Season 1, with whom Julia often checked in while she was away on charter. Though Bobby Giancola shared that he had a little crush on Julia, she made it clear that she was totally committed to her love back home.
"He never thought reality TV was something I'd sign up for and to be honest I didn't think it was either. He supports me in whatever adventure I will try but maybe another season away would be one step too far!" Julia shared of Matty's reaction to Below Deck Med during an interview with The Daily Dish in 2016. "I think it was tough for me being away for five months and a bit unfair of me to put him through it all as on Below Deck Med, I didn't have full privacy to talk to him, so that wasn't fun, and it was back-to-back charters, so hard to find time to talk to him. And then Bobby creeping on me, so it was a lot for him to take."
Julia and Matty took their relationship to the next level and moved in together after Season 1 of Below Deck Med. Back then, Julia said they were more focused on building Myrtle & Maude than on planning a wedding. "Let’s see what the future holds, we are building the foundations, trying to be business moguls," Julia told The Daily Dish in regards to whether she and Matty would ever tie the knot. "Matty’s mum said we were like a younger version of 'Posh and Becks,' which made me giggle!"
Julia and Matty tied the knot on December 8, 2018 in front of 13 guests. "We had a lovely intimate day," she shared on Instagram after the wedding in a post on December 17, 2018 while she and Matty were honeymooning in Vietnam, Singapore, and Bali.
The Season 1 stew later kicked off 2019 by sharing a stunning photo of her wedding dress taken at the Rudding Park Hotel in Follifoot, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. She followed that up with another pic from her wedding on January 9 to celebrate one month and a day of being a wife. "Time has flown!" Julia wrote in the post. "2019 has already been busy one...we have honeymooned in 3 different countries and moved into our new office which we have been painting and prepping for the last week!... I don’t want to see another paintbrush again in my life."
She added, "This time of year everyone’s setting new goals... I have a list as long as my arm but not yet committed to them as the NEW OFFICE has taken over my life!!"
Julia shared a lovely message to her husband while commemorating "the 1st of many" Valentine's Day celebrations they will share together as a married couple. "Happy Valentines to my dream man... he is an absolute gentleman, thoughtful, caring, handsome man and has my back always," she shared. "I’m very blessed and a lucky lady."
