The Season 3 stew announced the happy news in a post on Instagram on July 14. "I said YES to my soul mate," Brooke shared. "The first time we met I called him my future husband before I even knew his name (behind his back-that would just be creepy) and now the most romantic proposal on a hilltop overlooking the bay of Portofino. Just in time for my 30th Birthday today. Sooooo overwhelmed and in love."

The post featured a series of photos of the proposal, including the moment Brooke's now-fiancé got down on one knee to pop the question. Of course, there are also plenty of snaps of Brooke's elegant engagement ring, as well as the breathtaking backdrop of the Italian Riviera.

While showing off her engagement ring some more in her Instagram Stories on her birthday on July 14, Brooke confirmed that she was feeling "30, flirty, engaged, and thriving."

As if all of that wasn't already dreamy enough, Brooke shared many more snaps from her Italian adventure on Instagram with her new fiancé, about whom she gushed in one post: "More in love with you [every day]."

Brooke received lots of love from the Below Deck family in the comments to her engagement announcement, including fellow Below Deck Med Season 3 crew members Hannah Ferrier ("Congrats honey!!!!!!!!") and Colin Macy-O'Toole ("Congrats Brookie Cookie!!"), Below Deck Med Season 1 stew Julia d'Albert Pusey ("It’s the best feeling ever. Take it in!"), who got married in 2018, and Below Deck Season 6 stew Josiah Carter ("Yaaasssss congrats xx").

Below Deck Med fans will recall that romance was a big part of Brooke's time on the show. After João Franco became involved in something of a love triangle with Brooke and her fellow stew, Kasey Cohen, in Season 3, he and Brooke ultimately started a relationship, which continued after the charter season. However, the couple called it quits prior to João returning to the Below Deck Med crew as bosun in Season 4.

Brooke appears to have first gone public with her current relationship in a post on Instagram from January 28, 2020. "Forever isn’t long enough #soulmate," she captioned the collection of photos of her and her fiancé.

Since then, Brooke has shared the loveliest photos with her beau on Instagram, calling him her "forever" and showing what "true happiness" looks like.

The couple are also parents to an adorable pup named Marley.

Still, Brooke has kept it fairly mum when it comes to her fiancé's identity, although she did spill some details on him in an Instagram post in honor of his birthday on June 27. "Happy 30th Birthday to this gorgeous Dutch man! My soul mate, best friend and partner in crime! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have found you. You’re the most handsome, intelligent, driven, caring and kind man. You are the best daddy to Marley and make me feel like we can achieve anything when you hold my hand and [I'm] so excited for this life together!" Brooke wrote. "It took me a while to find you but it was worth the wait! My whole world, my lobster, my love. Happy 30th Birthday Ingmar! Gefeliciteerd [congratulations in Dutch]."

An engagement isn't the only news in Brooke's life since Below Deck Med. She previously shared many major life updates in a post on Instagram on April 11, which featured a photo of her with her dog. "Little bit in love. I have literally been feeling like the luckiest girl in the world recently.. after the craziest rollercoaster that was my twenties I finally found my soul mate, moved to Dubai, we have the best little fur baby and I’m loving and embracing an [entrepreneur] lifestyle away from the 9-5 (or 6am-1am in my case) making money in my flip flops," she shared. "Building the life I always wanted and becoming the woman I am supposed to be! Don’t waste your life and your time on things that don’t serve you and make you happy. Participate in your own rescue because no one else will do it for you."
