Kate Chastain Says Nico Scholly and Bri Adekeye's Romance Was Never as "Crazy" as This Famous Below Deck Fling

Every season of Below Deck, you can pretty much bet that romance will bloom aboard the yacht. And this season is no exception.
After a previous encounter in Barcelona before Below Deck, Nico Scholly and Brianna Adekeye decided to explore a relationship this charter season. But in order to do so, Nico had to break things off with his girlfriend back home, Melissa.
This situation reminded us of a throwback Below Deck moment when bosun Eddie Lucas hooked up with stewardess Rocky Dakota when things weren't going so great between him and his girlfriend back on land in Season 3. So who better to make sense of it all than Kate Chastain, who had a front-row seat to two of Below Deck's buzziest romances of all time?
The Below Deck chief stew compared and contrasted the controversial relationships when The Daily Dish caught up with her earlier this month. "The reason, personally, I found Eddie and Rocky a little more offensive was not necessarily that Eddie had a girlfriend; it was that they kept it a secret from the crew the entire time," Kate said. "Bri and Nico are not keeping it a secret. They're saying, 'This is our choice. This is what we're doing.'"
In case you're wondering why Eddie and Rocky's fling seemed to inspire way more outrage among the Below Deck crew members and fans alike than Nico and Bri, we'll just let Kate explain. "When I found out that Eddie had been hooking up with Rocky, it was like the world had been turned upside down. Numbers were letters, colors were gone," Kate said. "It was crazy because Eddie seemed like such a nice, stand-up guy, and she was so crazy and nuts, and you don't want to see the cool guy get with the crazy girl because it's like, 'What? I thought you were cooler than that.'"
The other major difference between these two couples? Well, let's just say that the yacht's laundry machines were a-rockin' for entirely different reasons back in Season 3. "I don't think that Nico and Bri had as much time below deck as Eddie and Rocky did. I think it was more flirty and convenient. But I don't think it got as intimate," Kate shared. "I would just say that Bri and Nico did a strong cuddle, an aggressive cuddle, an R-rated cuddle — [or rather] PG."
